Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: A Kiss

Mikhail's intuition told him that everything Wesker said was true.

During their exploration of the mansion, the squad had found various appalling experimental records, and they didn't know how many people had died in the mansion during the experiments.

"The combat data of the B.O.W. is far more valuable. Do you think the company would care about the loss of a few employees?"

"Then why did you kill Nicholai?"

Carlos asked. This mercenary from South America had curly hair and looked like a bright, handsome guy.

Since both Nicholai and Wesker were people from the company, why would Wesker kill Nicholai?

It didn't make sense.

"He pointed a gun at me; a spot has already been reserved for him in hell."

Wesker gave a cold laugh, extended his palm, and smashed the glass of the nearby incubation chamber with a punch.

"Motherfucker, what are you doing?"

"Witness Umbrella Corporation's masterpiece, what a true biological weapon is!"

The glass of the incubation chamber was broken, all the green incubation fluid flowed out, and a huge monster inside the chamber opened its eyes.

Tyrant, T-002!

Like the Tyrant T-001, the Tyrant T-002 was also a prototype Tyrant. Its skin had been stripped away, its heart and spine were exposed, half of its face was a bloody mess, and its right arm was a sharp claw and spike.

After the incubation fluid flowed out, the Tyrant immediately opened its eyes and woke up.

It swung its sharp right claw once, immediately shattering the glass of the incubation chamber, and stepped out from it.

"What the fuck is this monster?"

Someone exclaimed, and the next second, Delta Squad's firepower poured out.

The Tyrant blocked in front of itself with its right claw, but it couldn't cover its two-meter-tall body. Bullets struck the Tyrant's body, and blood spurted out from wound after wound.

Amidst the hail of bullets, the Tyrant T-002's forward steps were slow and steady.

Its gaze swept around once, then locked firmly onto Wesker, who was standing to the side.

Wesker:???

After breaking through the incubation chamber, Wesker had flashed to hide behind some equipment. The squad's position was directly in front of the Tyrant, while Wesker's position was to the Tyrant's front-right. Logically, the Tyrant should have noticed Delta Squad directly in front of it first.

"An immature test subject."

Wesker cursed under his breath and got up, wanting to run away.

But the Tyrant was faster. The moment Wesker stood up, the sound of tearing fabric rang out.

"Urgh!"

Wesker looked at his abdomen in disbelief. The sharp claw, stained with his blood, had pierced straight through him from behind.

The members of Delta Squad looked at each other in confusion; why was there infighting on the other side again?

And Wesker released the monster himself, only to be killed by the monster he released? Was he really not cosplaying as a circus clown?

The Tyrant knocked Wesker down into a pool of blood. After dealing with Wesker, the Tyrant's eyes rolled around once, finally locking back onto Delta Squad.

Seeing that the bullets were ineffective, Mikhail cursed under his breath and said:

"Let's go, let's retreat back up first."

Their equipment had been consumed too much while exploring the mansion, and the few of them only had a little ammunition left.

This freak, raised by Umbrella Corporation's various viruses, could not be killed by the remaining ammunition they had.

They needed to think of some other way.

...

How much time had passed since they entered the mansion?

Asa calculated in his mind; it was about two hours.

He was only a little bit of experience away from leveling up to LV2, at which point he would be able to gain another attribute point.

Unfortunately, the monsters in the mine had been cleared by Delta Squad beforehand. The only monster still alive was Lisa, but Asa didn't want to kill her for the time being.

Going deep into the mine with Ada Wong, it wasn't long before an elevator appeared directly in front of them, and an altar-like stone coffin appeared on the side. The four corners of the stone coffin's lid were firmly fixed to the coffin with four iron chains.

Inside was imprisoned the remains of Lisa Trevor's mother, the mother Lisa had been searching for all along.

In the original game, the stone coffin was opened by Jill, and Lisa, who had been chasing Jill, completely gave up hope after seeing her mother's remains. She picked up her mother's skull and jumped into the abyss beside the stone coffin.

Who knew that Lisa hadn't died after jumping down; she accidentally ran into Wesker, who had faked his death to escape from the mansion that was about to self-destruct.

With old scores and new grudges, Lisa began to chase Wesker.

After faking his death to escape, Wesker's body had completely fused with the T-Virus, greatly enhancing his reaction speed and strength. Eventually, in the mansion's main hall, Wesker shot down the chandelier overhead, which struck the pursuing Lisa, causing her to be buried along with the mansion's past in the self-destruction.

It's pitiful, isn't it?

But that result would not happen again.

After Asa took over the base's permissions, he immediately blocked Wesker's access, trapping him in this underground base.

The elevator to the surface was also sealed, unless Wesker's strength was great enough to pry open the iron door in front of the elevator.

Asa thought about it carefully, and it was indeed possible. Wesker's strength had greatly increased after fusing with the T-Virus; prying open the iron door in front of the elevator wouldn't be difficult.

"Ada, we need to speed up."

Asa said. Having the opportunity to take out the bosses from the later generations of resident evil in advance, Asa wouldn't miss it.

Ada Wong didn't speak. At this moment, Ada Wong didn't really want to complete this mission anymore; she vaguely had a feeling of wanting to just give up.

Besides the fact that her conscience wasn't completely gone, the information provided by the employer beforehand hadn't mentioned that there were so many monsters in the mansion, and the deposit paid far exceeded what should be expected for potential emergencies.

In other words, the money wasn't enough.

Just as the two were about to enter the elevator leading to the basement, the sound of iron chains suddenly came from behind.

Asa turned his head to look and saw that Lisa had revived on the spot, charging over while maintaining the posture of having her hands shackled.

Lisa Trevor, grandly revived.

"Here she comes again. Why does she just not die?"

Ada Wong cursed in a low voice and raised her pistol, ready for battle.

"There's no other way."

Asa glanced at the elevator at his feet. If he pressed the button to go down now, there was no guarantee that Lisa wouldn't destroy the entire elevator directly.

He never doubted the destructive power that a B.O.W. could cause.

In an instant, Asa made a judgment.

"You go down, I'll cover you."

"What! No way!"

Hearing this absurd method, Ada Wong refused immediately.

First, she believed that Asa hadn't used his full strength yet; if the two of them were prepared, they might not lack the power to fight.

When facing Lisa for the first time, Asa had barely used that revolver with only one bullet.

Secondly, Asa had just saved her life. Even though Ada Wong was a freelance agent, she absolutely couldn't do something like using someone twice in a row.

Moreover, in a situation where fighting together could win, and separating would lead to being defeated one by one, wouldn't it be too stupid to separate?

"We can handle it together, okay?"

Seeing that her persuasion might not be effective, the agent lady, in a moment of impulse, lightly kissed Asa on the face.

Asa: ( ̄ △ ̄ ; )

Asa was stunned for a moment, and touched his cheek in disbelief.

The warm, gentle touch seemed to still linger on his face.

There's no other way, Lisa. I originally wanted to save you, but Ada won't let me.
