Along the way, Wesker would forcibly take out every surveillance camera he spotted.
Knowing that the surveillance in the surface parking lot couldn't be taken out beforehand, he was seen on the monitor taking a different elevator that went straight to the surface parking lot.
After using his super strength to forcibly break the lock on the iron gate, Wesker strode away.
This guy managed to escape.
Asa didn't feel much regret in his heart; it would have been best if he could have kept Wesker, but it didn't matter if he couldn't.
There was a reward if he killed him, and no penalty if he didn't.
It was more important to build up Auntie Wong's favorability.
"Today is a good day~"
Humming a tune, Asa took out a separation chip.
It was time for the crowd-pleasing looting segment. The data on the T-Virus and the fusion of various organisms into B.O.W.s at Arklay Laboratory was too important; it could be said to be one of the sources that started the disastrous resident evil world.
Faced with biological weapons that were easy to use, cheap, and had a wide range of transmission, the thugs at the dining table could hardly resist the temptation.
A while later, viruses and biological weapons became even more rampant.
Within a dozen years after the Raccoon City crisis, some small warlords in African tribes could grit their teeth and buy a vial of T-Virus stock solution on the black market.
These African warlords wouldn't care about international perception or shocking friendly nations; if it could bring them any advantage, they would use it on civilians without hesitation.
With all the data copied onto his separation chip, it seemed this journey was coming to an end.
"Don't move, Asa."
While he was organizing the data, Ada's voice suddenly came from behind him.
Asa movement of picking up the separation chip paused slightly, then he stored the chip in his space.
He spread his palms and turned around, wearing an expression of shock and sadness on his face:
"Ada, what is the meaning of this?"
He saw Ada Wong holding her small handgun, pointing it at Asa, with her other hand hanging by her side.
"Oh, Asa, I should have mentioned my mission. Give me the T-Virus and the research data."
"What are you talking about?"
Asa looked bewildered: "The base's system has been hijacked; how could I possibly have what you want?"
"Stop pretending, Asa."
The expression on Ada Wong's face told Asa that the agent didn't believe a word he said.
"Just now, you were copying data, right? I saw that chip."
Everyone in front of the screen knew about Ada's stealth skills.
Quietly following behind Asa, Ada Wong never let Asa discover her presence the entire time.
When she saw the hijacked base system being easily controlled by Asa, the mastermind behind all this became obvious.
Ada Wong knew Asa was hiding things from her, but she didn't expect the secret to be this important. Being trapped in the mansion and forced to abandon the mission gave her a feeling as if her conscience had been fed to the dogs.
An agent interrogation game? Interesting.
Seeing this, Asa stopped pretending and asked back:
"Are you really an FBI agent? Ada, I wouldn't hand over the data to someone of unknown origin."
"Give me the data, Asa. Don't make me say it twice."
Ada Wong had no intention of explaining. She had seen many comrades who worked closely together become enemies in the blink of an eye, but when it happened to her, she still felt sad.
She planned to leave immediately after getting the data and never look at Asa again.
"I can give it to you, Ada, but are you really prepared to take it away?"
Asa looked around and finally gazed at the surveillance camera.
"Look around here. The researchers in the mansion deserved to die, but the Trevor family, the tourists on the road—they were innocent."
"After your employers get this data, they will be nothing more than the next Umbrella Corporation. Do you really want to hand over such a deadly weapon to them?"
"Then who are you working for, Asa?"
Ada Wong was unmoved. If the T-Virus data fell into the hands of the master behind Asa, would the result be any better?
"Didn't I tell you? I'm just an ordinary researcher at Umbrella Corporation. I stood up because I couldn't stand what they were doing. Do you think the damage to Umbrella Corporation's reputation this past month just happened on its own?"
"Is that so?"
Ada Wong's expression told Asa that she didn't believe him.
"A random researcher from Umbrella Corporation having this kind of combat ability, plus your mysterious weapons and equipment—since when did Umbrella Corporation start training researchers as warriors?"
Asa tried to use his silver tongue, but unfortunately, Ada Wong couldn't feel his sincerity or passion; the attempt failed.
Not wanting to leave the impression that he was bad at talking, Asa sighed and said helplessly:
"It seems we'll have to settle this with our fists."
Ada Wong's eyes immediately became dangerous. She glanced imperceptibly at the bandage on Asa waist and abdomen, then shook her head:
"Asa, you'd better not."
Seeing Asa charge straight at her, Ada Wong hesitated slightly and chose not to shoot.
"So fast!"
In that split second of hesitation, Asa figure had already reached Ada Wong's face. With a simple straight punch, Ada exerted force to the right, and Asa fist grazed the air beside her cheek by a hair's breadth.
In that instant, Ada reached out to grab the wrist of Asa straight punch, used a bow stance to exert force from her waist, pressed her back against Asa chest, and tried to use his momentum to throw him.
But as soon as she made contact, Ada Wong immediately felt that something was wrong.
Because no matter how hard she tried, the arm in her hand felt like it was filled with lead; it wouldn't budge at all.
"How is that possible?"
Ada Wong was caught off guard. Along the way, besides showing quick reactions, accurate marksmanship, and powerful weapons, Asa strength was also surprisingly great.
This guy claimed to be an Umbrella researcher; could he at least try to lie more convincingly?
Failing to throw him, Ada Wong was about to change tactics, but the arm she was holding swept to the right and pressed against her throat.
"Crap!"
Her fragile neck was locked in Asa elbow. If Asa wanted to, she could already imagine her miserable demise.
With her neck locked, Asa gave a gentle squeeze. Ada Wong, in his arms, immediately rolled her eyes, and her feet, wearing high heels, kicked helplessly.
To prevent things from heading in a more hardcore direction, Asa released his arm in less than a second and pushed Ada Wong away from his embrace.
"Do you want to keep fighting? Ada."
"Cough, cough!"
Ada Wong began to cough violently.
"I..."
She had lost.
With a simple move, relying on his strength, Ada Wong had lost completely. If Asa had been a bit more ruthless, she would have died there.
Turning around, Ada Wong smiled bitterly.
"You win. I'm leaving."
Just as she took a step, a shout from Asa made Ada Wong stop in her tracks.
