Chapter Eighteen
There was a distant ringing in Samantha's ears and she could only hear Darian's voice in the distance. "Fuck… fuck fuck…"
His voice gradually came closer and closer till she could hear him clearly. "I… I can hear you now. I was shocked." She mumbled, trying to stand but his body was still shielding hers on the ground. There was an orange-like shield surrounding them as the pain ringing in her head subsided.
Darian's calm demeanour which she knew him by was already gone and he looked angry but it seems he was holding back. He knew he couldn't unleash his power while she was here and his first priority was to make sure she was safe.
"What's going on?" Samantha asked, trying to look out of the shield but she could see nothing. "There was an explosion."
