Redwood burst into laughter, a cruel, rasping sound that filled the air. "Oh please. Orion isn't a guide though, then he'll serve as a human. Esper Louise already gave me his word that he won't harm Orion. You think he'd spend millions just to kill him? Don't be ridiculous. It's obvious the Esper likes him, or maybe he just wants someone beautiful and obedient to work in his mansion. Either way, that's Orion's good fortune! You should be happy for him!"
Edwards stared at him in disbelief, his jaw tight. "Happy?" he spat. "Happy that you sold your nephew to a man who could destroy him on a whim? You're insane!"
He ran a hand through his hair, his chest heaving. His thoughts raced, panic flashing behind his eyes. Damn it... Orion isn't just human. He's a guide....a low-level one, yes, but still a guide. And worse… he's pregnant.
Edwards' heart sank as realization hit him. Once Esper Louise finds out he's a guide and carrying a baby, it's over. He'll never let him live.
