With Matt's first experience with the ant devil, he had been careful. He had killed five more of them when he saw the second ant devil; if not that he was stronger than it in terms of battle sense, he would have lost.
But as he continued, he was able to control his strength now, killing the ant devils within five strikes.
He now understands the reason for this combat assessment; if it is just that they had awakened their Requiem and headed to battle scenes, the death rate of students would be more than eight percent.
Now they are battling devils with 10% combat power, yet Matt has seen two people who had died.
SHRIEK!
Matt was already familiar, looking at his front to see two devil ants looking at him with their cruel eyes.
He didn't flinch at this; he unsheathed his sword, taking a stance capable of battling two people at once.
The Ant Devils didn't waste time, charging towards him with their legs attacking.
With one of their front legs forward, they attacked him. He saw this, his eyes seeing the trajectory of their attack.
He placed his sword in front of him, using it to parry their attack. With this, he slides below them; the ant legs slide off his sword, hitting the ground with immense force.
For a moment, their front legs were stuck in the ground. But this didn't stop them from attacking; they were just immobilized for a while.
They quickly attacked Matt, who was sliding below them, but their calculations were a bit off; their legs all missed Matt by a breadth.
Matt didn't waste this opportunity, attacking their gaster; black blood spilled from it, scorching the ground.
The ant devils screeched in pain; they removed their legs, and devilish energy emitted from them, which made Matt take a few steps back.
Looking at their change, Matt didn't feel fear; he exhaled deeply, took a stance, his right leg forward, and his body slowly bent.
He raised his sword with his left hand; the body, and the tip of the sword rested on the palm of his right hand, which was stretched forward.
The Ant Devils saw this; they didn't care. Their six eyes gleamed strangely as they charged towards Matt.
Matt charged forward towards the ant devils; he let out a roar as he slashed towards the ant devils. They used their left legs to block his sword, using their right legs to stab at Matt's head.
Matt saw this; his body was flexible, and he bent down, narrowly dodging the attack. He looked at the menacing legs that were above them, stretching forward.
He somersaults, leaving their range.
"I guess that's enough," Matt muttered. Honestly, he had the strength to kill the ant devil easily, but he's honing himself because the boss at floor level 30 was his main target.
One of the ant devils struck once again. Matt watched this without fear; he had learned something from these battles: never show fear in front of your enemy, even though your enemy is stronger than you.
He raised his hands up, his mouth opened, and he said, "Sword Combat Skill: Cut."Matt slashed down vertically; it felt as if the sword had gained power, sharper than before and elongated.
The ant devil was running to Matt. Matt didn't move from where he was; his sword slashed down.
It just remained a bit for the ant to reach him, but it couldn't; its eyes dimmed, the body split into two, and black blood littered everyone.
The second Ant Devil shrieked; it doesn't know the meaning of fear. Seeing the death of its fellow race, it was angry, charging at Matt.
Matt saw this; as the ant got close to him, he muttered, "Sword Combat Skill: Feint."
Matt striked forward, the ant devil who saw this immediately stop its attack. It knew that it was this sword that killed its companion.
But even though it dodged, the next moment everywhere was turning dark. The ant devil looked to see Matt smiling, waving at it, and everyone turned dark.
Matt looked at the dead ant devil. The attack was a fake attack, baiting the ant to move to another direction where Matt attack was waiting for him.
"Stab,"
This was the sword combat skill he used to stab the head of the ant devil where its devil core was. He looked at his sword lodged in its head; he removed it, swung it to remove the blood, and sheathed it back.
Matt smiled. He checked the watch; an interface appeared showing his points.
As Matt checked it, the dead body of the first ant moved; its halved body moved towards its second dead body.
Meanwhile, Matt checked the points and realized something: he had only received points for a dead ant, which was two points. That's when he knew.
But it was late, and an immense, devilish energy was released that sent Matt flying. When Matt got himself up, he looked to his front and saw the source of where the second ant devil died; the halved body of the first ant devil had disappeared.
He didn't know what was happening, but he felt threatened; the devilish energy was so immense that Matt couldn't see what was inside.
SHRIEK!
The shriek shattered Matt's eardrum; he held his ears, trying to cover them, his face grimacing in pain.
When the shriek stopped, Matt could finally breathe; his entire face was full of sweat. He removed his hands to see them stained in blood.
But he didn't have an opportunity to check it out, as his body instinct felt a threat before him.
He looked up to see an ant devil standing before him; even though it was the same size, the devilish aura was more than twice that of the one that he had battled.
It had twelve eyes now, its antenna looked like a sword, and its scales were darker than before.
Matt felt terror from what was standing before him; he didn't waste time using the scan function of the watch on his hand.
When he used it, the same familiar interface appeared in front of him, but seeing its content, his body shook in fear,
