Chapter 26 - Dungeon Battle (4): Finally Met

A young man raised his sword, slashing through the skeletons before him. They weren't just skeletons but bone devils.

This devil's specialty is manipulating and weaponizing bones—both its own and those of its victims.

Well, as for how Matt found himself here, a little flashback.

After Matt woke up, he was surprised to see that he wasn't dead, and also all of his injuries were healed. Only his ruined clothes stained with blood served as evidence.

He didn't understand why the ant devil didn't kill him; maybe it was scared away by the power that he had released.

He checked his points, and they didn't increase. It pained him that he wasn't able to kill the Ant Devil; it would have increased his points by a lot.

But he was glad that he was alive. The power he used at that period came from his veins. In order to access the power easily without falling unconscious, he would have to open all his minor veins and start absorbing Originat.

Because this requirement wasn't met, he fell unconscious.

He checked through the watch and saw that he had slept for a whole day. He was baffled again why no ant devil didn't attack him during the period of his unconsciousness.

He didn't think much of it, he continued the journey of the dungeon; strangely, he didn't meet any other ant devils until he reached the boss room.

Seeing the dry place, he guessed others had left. As a day had gone, he didn't waste time. The final boss was an ant devil with 12% combat power, which he solved within seconds.

Now he's on floor level ten and had spent an entire week in the dungeon.

The first floor was Ant Devil, the second floor was Worm Devil, and the third floor was Imp Devil. For these devils, they were cunning, mischievous, and challenging to eliminate; one had to be careful.

The fourth level was Horn Devil, brutish devils with large horns used for charging and impaling.

The fifth level was Ash Devil; their bodies are made of burnt ashes. They turn to dust when killed and reform later. This gave Matt a headache as he had to destroy their core. They don't have strong attack and defense; their reformation is their specialty.

The sixth level was Mist Devil; they released red mist that could hinder their sight, weakening their strength by a few percentages.

The seventh level was Needle Devil. Their bodies were covered in spikes with deadly fatality; they fired them like arrows, which made one be careful when fighting them.

The eighth level was Claw Devil; they are hunched, fast-moving devils with long claws that slice through metal.

The ninth level was Tooth Devil; they collect and throw their teeth as weapons, which regrow instantly after use.

Now he was in the tenth level, where he was battling the bone devils. Also, the combat power increases as they head higher in the dungeon level. As for their combat effectiveness, it wasn't fixed; different devils had different combat power.

In the tenth level, the lowest combat power of the Bone Devils was twenty percent, and he had battled twenty-four percent. Even though it was a threat, he was able to eliminate it.

The lectures of Teacher Elizabeth also worked here, as she had explained about the devil, pointing out their weaknesses, which Matt had taken advantage of.

In a battlefield, it's either you win so that you win, or if you lose, you are dead already. Blood flows like rivers.

If one compares Matt when he enters the dungeon to the how he is now. One would see differences; Matt's eyes now were filled with killing aura, showing that he had killed a lot of devils and he had matured a lot during the dungeon journey.

He met numerous students, but because of his well-known reputation, they didn't invite him. As for those who invited him, he rejected them. For now, he preferred being a lone wolf.

His mentality has changed; he was always vigilant towards other students because he could see some student corpses. He saw on the way the mark didn't show that it was caused by a devil but by humans.

This made him shake his head. It seems the greatest enemy is humans.

He cleared the tenth level; as for his points, he didn't check them; he was focused on training. Before entering the boss room, he sat down trying to see if he could unblock one of the last two veins; he had been trying to break through one.

Also, he waited for the opportunity; if he could see someone to join hands with, even though Matt could defeat the boss, it's better to save strength and have no risk factor.

He went into meditation, using his talent and consciousness to break through this minor vein,

"Almost…" Matt bit his lip, still using his consciousness, attempting to break it.

After a few minutes, he exhaled, "Now it remains a single vein." Matt smiled; he couldn't hide his happiness.

He looked around himself and saw that there was no one that came; he went alone to battle the final boss for the level.

It was a bone devil with 27% combat power. Matt looked at the devil before him; his mind was at ease as it didn't reach the level of the ant devil he fought.

His combat skills have been enhanced due to his fighting, having twice their former damage.

Even though it was a hard battle, Matt was able to kill it; his body was transported to the next level.

A group of people were in the center of Chain Devils, devils that fight using cursed chains that wrap, crush, and drain energy.

A silver-haired young lady led the group; she emits an ice breath. From her breath, she should be able to deal with the Chain Devils and escape.

But if you look at the group of people behind, numbering more than fifteen, eighty percent are injured, and their combat strength is all halved.

This was what was keeping her from making a move, just making sure she defended her group.

The battle continued; the chain devils would throw their chains, and they would try to defend. But she can't last like this, or they would be eliminated.

It was then a footstep was heard. They wondered if it was an enemy or a friend. If it was the latter, they hoped it was a strong man.

The footsteps got closer, but when they saw the person, they lost interest, disheartened by this.

Meanwhile, two gazes met at this moment...
