Even though the last thing Emily wanted was to go home and leave Jonah's side, Helen, her brother's nurse, insisted, telling her that she also needed to rest. Besides, there was nothing else she could do but wait.
"Emily, don't worry too much," Helen said, patting her gently on the shoulder. "Dr. Beal had only administered a mild sedative so Jonah could have a good night's sleep. By tomorrow, he would be as good as new." She continued while giving her a comforting smile.
Helen had always been so nice to her and Jonah. Sometimes, she had even gone beyond her duty as his nurse just to help her. To her, Helen was not just someone who took care of her brother, but more like an older sister that she never had.
"Fine, but call me if there are any changes. I'll be back first thing in the morning." Emily reluctantly agreed. Still, she felt like she should stay in case her brother suddenly woke up.
"Go home, Emily." Helen tagged at her arm and nudged her toward the door.
