The next morning started suspiciously normal. Too normal.
I stood in front of the World Quest Generator, half-asleep, watching Kael and Zeref exchange the kind of polite silence that screamed violence pending.
"Morning," I said, stretching.
"Morning, Eunji," Kael replied, almost smiling, until Zeref appeared beside me and said the exact same line, tone perfectly calm, but his grin had that I'm going to ruin your peace kind of promise.
And he did.
Because the moment I hit the accept button for the next three Rank A bosses, a trio of sparkly-eyed girls appeared behind us, all giggles and bouncing ponytails.
"Excuse us! You're heading for the Wyvern's Nest, right? We need that material drop for the Alchemist's potion! Can we, um, party up?"
Zeref was already nodding before I could blink. "Of course. The more the merrier."
Kael's jaw tightened. "We don't need-"
"Sure," I cut him off, elbowing him. "Let's help them out. One quest, that's it."
