Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Kanna Goes on an Outing!

"Oh no! Kanna is gone!" Amiya rushed in from outside, panting.

After Amiya finished speaking, she realized Kal'tsit wasn't surprised. Earlier that morning, she had worried that Kanna would be sad after Outcast left, so she had gone to Kanna's room early. But knocking yielded no response, and feeling a premonition, she immediately broke down the door, only to find an empty bedroom. Seeing this situation, she immediately rushed to the Central Control Hub to find Kal'tsit.

"Outcast's report came in ten minutes ago. They found Kanna hiding in the car's trunk this morning. After applying, it was decided to include Kanna as a member of this mission's action team."

At this, Kal'tsit, uncharacteristically, pinched the bridge of her nose.

"That little rascal Kanna has given us quite a few surprises. Notify ACE and her team, who were on guard duty last night, to clean Rhodes Island's bathrooms for a month as punishment."

Next to Kal'tsit, the surveillance footage from Kanna's bedroom to the workshop kept flashing, but not a single camera captured Kanna's trace.

"Notify everyone: all surveillance within Rhodes Island is to be rearranged. No blind spots are allowed. I don't want this situation to happen a second time."

"Hehehe, that little rascal Kanna might have the talent to become a top assassin!" A figure emerged from the shadows nearby. She meticulously watched all the surveillance footage and then spoke with an admiring tone.

"She must have overheard us discussing the mission with Outcast last time. It's also thanks to her patience; she spent a week and a half, under the guise of cleaning, traversing Rhodes Island, successfully finding a passage with surveillance blind spots, and then, without anyone knowing, blended into the departing convoy. However, precisely because of this, it also let us know that Rhodes Island's current internal supervision still has significant loopholes."

At this moment, Kroos received Kal'tsit's message and walked in from outside. Earlier, she had been somewhat puzzled as to why Kal'tsit called her over so early in the morning.

After watching the video and hearing the news about Kanna, she was incredulous. She personally retrieved all of Rhodes Island's camera footage from last night, but still couldn't find the slightest trace of Kanna's departure.

The next moment, she slumped into her chair, relieved that Kanna hadn't acted with malicious intent, otherwise, Rhodes Island's entry and exit security would become a joke.

After all, SWEEP would only be dispatched if they knew an intruder existed, and if the intruder couldn't be found at all, then SWEEP couldn't monitor every corner of the entire ship. If something really went wrong, the person to take the blame could only be her, the Chief Designer of Rhodes Island's Engineering Department.

7 AM

Outcast and her team quickly headed towards their predetermined destination after leaving Rhodes Island.

According to Kal'tsit, their mission this time was to receive some children rescued by the Melander Children's Rights Protection Foundation from an experimental accident, including a special individual.

This reception team, in addition to her own squad, also included a medical squad led by TOUCH from the medical team, specifically to ensure safety during the reception.

After driving for a while, they suddenly heard snoring that shouldn't have been present in the vehicle.

They immediately stopped to check, to ensure the safety of the operation.

After opening the trunk, deep inside a pile of supplies, they found Kanna curled up in a ball, sleeping soundly, even blowing snot bubbles.

Everyone was stunned when they discovered Kanna in the car.

Fortunately, Outcast reacted in time. She first carried Kanna out of the trunk, then discussed with TOUCH. Due to the tight mission schedule, the convoy couldn't return to Rhodes Island, so she sent a message to Rhodes Island, deciding to take Kanna along for this mission.

Although Kanna had no "combat" experience, Outcast believed that her inherent powerful qualities and Originium Arts would be enough to support participation in a low-risk mission.

When Kanna woke up from her deep sleep and found herself in Outcast's arms, she shyly lowered her head.

Fortunately, Outcast didn't blame her for it, only simply stated that such behavior would not be allowed in the future. If she wanted to go on an outing, she should proactively talk to Kal'tsit or Amiya, and they would arrange her based on the tasks at hand.

After a sincere apology, Kanna sat in Outcast's arms, looking forward to this mission.

Because she saw that this time it was again two squads on the mission, there would inevitably be some difficulty, so participating in it would be more challenging than missions completed within Rhodes Island.

After the convoy traveled for a day, they arrived outside a warehouse next to a small town.

Seeing the arrival of the Rhodes Island group, the people inside the warehouse were initially tense, but upon realizing that the newcomers were their contacts, they immediately lowered their guard.

After a brief conversation, six or seven children were brought out. They were all more or less infected with oripathy and were not suitable to live with ordinary people, so they were to be sent for treatment.

Kanna, however, spotted a familiar figure in the crowd and let out an 'oh'.

It was a very young Feline.

She was currently in a deep sleep.

However, from her tightly furrowed brows and frail body, it was clear that her current condition was very poor.

When she was carried out, the other children nearby showed expressions of fear, as if they had seen some monster.

"It's Rosmontis," Kanna mused internally.

About Rosmontis, Kanna only knew that she was incredibly powerful in the story, a special talent who became a Rhodes Island Elite Operator at a young age, highly skilled in siege warfare, positional warfare, and annihilation warfare.

Kanna hadn't expected that this trip to Columbia was to pick her up.

After delivering Rosmontis and the children into Rhodes Island's hands, the other party collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

Before leaving, they warned that many people in Columbia still coveted Rosmontis's body, and if they didn't want to encounter those with ill intentions, it would be best to leave Columbia as soon as possible.

"Can I go to that big sister's place?" Although Rosmontis safely returned to Rhodes Island in the game, what if something abnormal happened in reality? Moreover, Rosmontis's Originium Arts in the story were terrifying. If Kanna was too far away, she worried that if Rosmontis lost control and erupted, she wouldn't be able to safely contain her immediately. So, she pointed to the vehicle Rosmontis was in and asked.

Outcast merely thought that seeing someone her age had piqued Kanna's curiosity. Since surgery couldn't be performed on the convoy anyway, even if the little girl had problems, they would have to wait until they reached Rhodes Island. So, she nodded, agreeing to Kanna's request.
