Chapter 16 - The Time Source

Fifteen Years Later...

Fifteen years had passed ever since Miya was summoned into the new world. Now, a new Spirit of Time had popped into existence.

A new otherworlder had appeard throughout the years who in which fused with the new Spirit of Time.

The star that shined brightly faded. Every ten years, it finds a new being to bring into the world. Each time a Spirit of Time dies, one appears after a decade.

Throughout the fifteen years, Miya had gotten stronger drastically. Her abilities grown a lot. She didn't know about this otherworlder who was brought in throughout those years.

«Miya Katagari.. all those years, you've grown immensely powerful, and you've gotten a lot smarter than before. Congrats.» the mysterious voice echoed through space-time. The voice was similar. It was the goddess that had summoned Miya into thsi world.

Miya was running through cities, exploring new parts of the world. As she was sprinting through cities like the Western Gate City, she stopped running around. It was a clear blue sky, the condition wasn't too windy nor too hot. It was perfect.

She stretched after all the exploration. Miya sat down, and summoned a sandwich.

Her looks were different. Her hair was much longer, but tied into a ponytail. Her body and soul was now immortal. She wore a suit under her buttoned up long coat as shoes and dress pants. She had also grown a bit taller throughout the years.

The men in Western Gate City glances over at her, seeing how beautiful she looked.

Miya sat there, eating her sandwich with a smile. As the men continued to stare, they looked away, minding their own business.

Birds were chirping, it was a nice sunny day out. Miya threw her paper into a trash can and left.

Then a loud scream had reached her ears, then immediately sprinted over to the location where she heard the screaming.

She continued following the scream and had arrived. It was an older girl, more so in her teen years.

The men had predatory smiles on their faces as they walked up to the girl.

The girl had her eyes closed in fear, but then there was no sound. It was silence.

She opened up her eyes, seeing the men had collapsed to the ground, noticing Miya. Miya walked towards the girl, and squatted.

"Hey. Are you alright?" says Miya with a smile.

"Y-Yes, thank you for helping m-me." the young girl stammered.

"Good, head home alright?" Miya responds with a bright smile. The young girl nodded and glances at her outfit.

"H-hey, aren't you Miya Katagari? T-there were news about a hero that had fit the description of wearing a suit-like outfit with a long coat going around h-helping others." The young girl explained as she continued to stammer and fumble her words a bit.

Miya notices how nervous the young girl was and how afraid from the event that could've happened if she wasn't there.

"Yes. No need to be anxious, I won't hurt you." she smiles as she helps her up.

"Thanks again.. for that." says the young girl.

"I have trouble with making friends and talking to others at school." she says with her head down.

"I see, and that lead to this situation?" Miya asks calmly, making sure she understood everything.

"Yeah. I was walking home today after school, then these guys came up to me with a predatory mindset. It scared me. I've always been bullied at school too." the young girl confirms her questions as she explained more.

"Where's your parents? Do you have anyone to talk to?" Miya asks calmly with a smile on her face.

The young girl glanced at Miya and looked away like she didn't want to talk about it, but she knew that she could open up to someone who she read about and loved.

"N-No, my parents died awhile ago in a car accident. I was the only one who survived." the young girl says with a frown.

"Sorry about that. My parents also both died, but hey, it's life. It happens yeah?" says Miya as she talks with a soothing tone, but the reminder of her parents had hit her like a truck.

"Yeah... I just need someone to take care of me, I've been struggling to do so on my own. I've been late to school many times now, and I have been working. So I don't get my assignments in on time." says the young girl as she's about to burst into tears.

"Sorry.. must be hard for a girl at your age to live like that." says Miya.

An idea had occurred in Miya's head, then she smiled with innocence.

"I have an idea, why don't I take you under my arm?" says Miya as she smiles brightly.

The young girl eyes widened in surprise, knowing it's an offer she can't decline. She felt some joy in her, but most of her feelings were negative.

"...You mean that?" says the young girl, surprised.

"Yup!" Miya exclaims in excitement as she leaves with the young girl.

The young girl thought about it for some time, and had finally came to the conclusion on what she wanted.

"Yes please. I'd like that." she smiles a bit as Miya smiles bsck.

Miya nodded and continued walking with her right next to her.

"So.. what's your name and how old are you?" Miya asks with curiosity.

"Liana Smith, and I'm fifteen." says Liana as they both walked.

Fifteen? Holy crap! Such a young age and she's already dealing with shit like living alone and taxes! You know what, I'll make sure she succeeds... Her thoughts were in shock about her age.

"I'll help you succeed, no more living alone and I'll try to be as good of a mother figure, ok?" says Miya as they both continued to walk.

Liana smiled and nodded as they continued walking.

Later that night...

Miya had did the process of selling Liana's home, and signing adoption papers via [Magic Contract].

They rented a hotel room and had sat down on their beds with Liana asleep on her side.

"Poor girl. No friends and bullied at school, plus living alone and doing taxes and rent alone seems really difficult for her." Miya sighs as she stood up.

"Well.. I guess I'll be taking care of her until she figures everything out." Miya went to the bathroom to shower.

Liana slept, and had drifted into a dream. She then woke up in the dream.

As Miya comes out of the bathroom, fully clothed in her casual outfit, she notices Liana is so deep in sleeping that she started to notice that she had entered the Dream World.

Liana was in bed, consciously moving around in the Dream World while Miya had stood there and watched over her, making sure nothing happens to her.

It was midnight outside, time and space was being distorted. This had caught Miya's attention. She stood up and walked towards the window of the hotel room.

The sky looked warp and distorted which sent some shock in Miya. She glanced back at Liana and sighs.

It had looked like the universe itself was being warped, but it was space-time distortion creating a wormhole in the sky that acts as portals or gateways to different parts of the multiverse.

The wormhole had disappeared, a figure was floating in the midnight, starry sky.

Who the hell is that...? What did they come over here for...? She had put up her guard and her thoughts became serious.

Liana woke up from her sleep, and glanced over, disoriented.

"What's... going on?" says Liana, disoriented and half asleep.

"Someone's here. We'll have to start moving soon. If we don't, then one of us will get in trouble and get into a fight with that mysterious being." says Miya, carrying a serious tone.

"What...?" she was half asleep still. Miya glanced over and took her arm and left.

"We're leaving Liana." says Miya, holding her arm not too tightly to hurt her.

Miya and Liana left the hotel, and walked somewhere else that isn't close by. Liana looks around, analyzing everything.

Liana continued walking next to Miya, following her.

"Where are we going Miya?" says Liana as she glances up at her.

"A special place. I've created a home spot between dimensions, so don't worry, it's safe." Miya says with a calm look.

Liana was unsure what she meant, but played along.

Miya had opened up a portal to her domain, The Eternal Soul of Darkness. Liana examines the place, but sees nothing. It was just pure darkness.

"Is this...?" Liana stopped her sentence as Miya glanced back at her.

"My domain. The Eternal Soul of Darkness. It's a place I made with Nihility Magic, beyond space and time. It's my home domain." says Miya.

"Why is it just a void though? It could've been anything, but why a void?" she asks curiously.

"It's because.. it resembles my human side leaving each time I gain power from the fragment crystals that are spread out." says Miya, with a saddened tone.

"So... you'll lose humanity, and slowly become a goddess.. sorry about that." says Liana apologetically.

Miya nodded, signaling that it's fine. She sets everything up, including a bed.

Although, there was one thing that was missing. The Time Source. A source that holds all countless timelines together.
