I gently sit on one of the chairs in the library, my elbow on the table and my fingers are under my chin. I try to push everything that's happening away, so I can concentrate and start reading.
Reading is therapy for me and I will rather be here than go after Rex, begging him to accept his own child. The place smells like old books and dust, I take a deep breath and close my eyes, letting the quietness register.
I look up sharply to the sound of door groaning softly. Kimmie strolls in with a small tray in hand, she smiles shyly.
"I brought some fruits for you, my lady. You've been in here for a while,reading. So I thought you might be hungry already because of the baby."
"That's so thoughtful of you but I'm not really hungry," I say, my voice low. "Thank you. Just drop them on the table."
