Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

More than half a month passed, and the Demon King finally arrived back at Totto Land!

Milim, holding a machine that continuously sprayed snowflakes, jumped down from the ship. This was a toy Vegapunk had made especially for her.

Milim had been holding it, unable to put it down, for the past few days.

"Vegapunk, hurry up and jump down from the ship! I'll show you around Totto Land," Milim called out from the port, constantly waving at Vegapunk.

Vegapunk, standing on the Demon King, saw the distance between the deck and the ground, and a dark line appeared on his forehead. "Stop joking, Milim. Do you think everyone can just jump down from here like you?"

Saying this, he slowly walked down the stairs at the side.

The workers at the port soon noticed the arrival of the Demon King, and at the same time, they saw the symbol of Totto Land, Milim.

"Lady Milim is back!"

"Where? Where?"

"It's only been a few months, but it feels like years. I can still vaguely remember the image of Lady Milim protecting us while sitting on her sun chair!" a port worker said, wiping his tears with a handkerchief, looking very effeminate.

All the surrounding workers looked at him with disgust.

"Why would you carry a handkerchief? I knew there was something wrong with you."

"I can't believe we have a traitor in our midst!"

"Beat him up! If we don't beat him up, I won't be able to sleep peacefully."

The worker wiping his tears with a handkerchief was then pinned to the ground and brutally beaten by a group of port workers.

Milim naturally noticed the commotion. She paused for a moment, but then still waved happily and greeted them, "Everyone, I'm back!"

The port workers who had been beating up their colleague immediately helped him up, acting like the best of friends, and waved at Milim.

"Welcome back, Lady Milim."

"I can see you're really popular with the people here, Milim." Vegapunk carefully observed all the workers at the port. He could clearly see that the eyes of these workers were filled with hope for the future.

Moreover, every worker was relatively healthy and strong, with no signs of malnutrition!

Milim proudly put her hands on her hips. "Of course! I'm the guardian deity of Totto Land, after all. It's only normal that everyone likes me."

"By the way, Vegapunk, do you want me to show you around Totto Land?" Milim asked.

Vegapunk smiled. "If I could have a tour, that would be even better."

"Alrighty!" Milim said loudly to El behind her, "El, you take the giant uncle to rest for a bit. I really don't know why he's suddenly been feeling unwell these past few days."

El nodded. "Leave it to me, Lady Milim."

Then, Milim pointed in one direction and announced with high spirits, "Our first stop is, of course, Totto Land's food street!"

The scene changed, and Milim and Vegapunk arrived at a very lively food street.

There were all sorts of barbecue, hot pot, malatang, and even drinks and ice cream—everything one could wish for. Many of these were things Vegapunk had never even heard of before.

Under Milim's guidance, the food in Vegapunk's hands grew more and more numerous. The various barbecues and drinks gradually made his belly expand.

Finally, Vegapunk stopped and sat down on a step.

He waved his hand and let out a burp. "I really can't. I can't fit another bite in."

Milim came over and sat down beside him, still gnawing on a large chicken leg. She said with a grin, "How is it here?"

"It's... it's simply like a dream. This place is too wonderful." Vegapunk could easily feel the lively atmosphere that permeated the air. The happiness that came from the bottom of the people's hearts could not be hidden.

Milim was very proud. "Of course! This is the country I am proud of!"

"Looking at you, you probably can't walk anymore. We should wait until your food digests before we go anywhere else." Milim looked at Vegapunk's enormous belly, then at her own flat stomach, despite having eaten more than ten times as much as him.

She nodded in satisfaction.

Vegapunk looked at the myriad of city lights and shook his head. "There's no need. Let's go see King Linlin in a bit."

"So suddenly!"

Vegapunk laughed. "When I saw the scenery here, I already knew that there would be no more hesitation in my heart."

"I can now fully dedicate myself to the path I love."

"I understand." Milim nodded in approval. "It's just like me. When you know what you're fighting for, there's no room for doubt in your heart."

"Exactly!"

...

Linlin had known for some time that the Demon King was about to arrive, but she chose not to interfere. She had heard from Milim that Vegapunk was a peace-loving scientist.

Since he loved peace, it was best to let him see for himself the lights of Totto Land, the peace that belonged to Totto Land.

This was more persuasive than any promise or guarantee!

Soon, El had arranged for the bald giant uncle to be settled in the dormitory already prepared for giants, then went to report everything about the journey to Linlin.

After listening to El's account, Linlin nodded. She stroked the rabbit sleeping lazily on her lap and spoke slowly, "I understand. All the giants from the giant village will be arriving in the next few days."

"I've already marked out a large piece of land on the other side of the island. It will be a perfect place for the giants to live."

"Since you understand everything, King Linlin, I'll go back to handling my work now." El nodded and turned to leave.

Linlin stroked the rabbit and couldn't help but remark, "He just got back and isn't even resting, just going straight to work. El is the real workaholic."

After saying this, Linlin, the workaholic herself, continued to deal with the various documents on her desk.

Not long after.

BANG! With a loud noise.

The door to Linlin's office was kicked open, and Milim's familiar figure came into view, followed by a man with a conspicuously large head.

Linlin immediately left her desk, walked up to Vegapunk, and extended her hand. Vegapunk also extended his, and the two shook hands.

Linlin spoke first, "You must be Mr. Vegapunk! I've heard so much about you."

"Not at all. It is King Linlin's reputation that has truly spread across the entire sea." The two exchanged pleasantries before beginning their discussion on the matters to come.

Milim saw that the two had already entered work mode and felt that her presence here was a bit redundant, so she turned and left the office.

On her way out, she swiped the rabbit that was sleeping on the desk.

Feeling itself being moved, the rabbit opened its crimson eyes, only to see a figure it hadn't seen in a long time appear before it.

Its eyes instantly filled with terror, and its hind legs began to struggle desperately.
