Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

Milim revealed her small canine teeth and proudly held up the firework in her hand.

"Let's stay one more night. I want to watch fireworks tonight."

"But we've been out for a long time!" El still felt troubled. He had been away from Totto Land for a long time, and there was a huge pile of things left unattended.

Totto Land was short-staffed right now. Another day's delay meant even more work would pile up by the time he got back.

"El!" Milim opened her big, watery eyes and stared pitifully at El.

"Alright, alright, we'll stay one more night then." Unable to resist Milim's pleading, El finally gave in.

"Yay!" Milim jumped up in excitement, then quickly grabbed Vegapunk's hand. "Vegapunk, come and help me! Let's use those fireworks to make a super-duper giant one."

Vegapunk looked at the excited Milim and chuckled. "Milim is so full of energy! But this does seem like a very interesting thing to do."

So, Vegapunk went over to the fireworks and began to seriously teach Milim how to make them.

El, on the side, didn't stay idle either. His boss was working hard to make fireworks, how could he, as her subordinate, just stand by and watch!

As the sky gradually darkened, Milim, Vegapunk, and El returned to the snowy ground, neatly arranging the already-made fireworks on top of the snow.

The sky wasn't completely dark yet, so it wasn't the best time to set off the fireworks.

Taking advantage of this time, Milim found the snowball she had rolled when she first arrived and prepared to rebuild the snowman.

Vegapunk didn't stay idle either, happily adding arms and clothes to the snowman. Meanwhile, El was arranging the fireworks, making sure they hadn't gotten wet from the snow, which would prevent them from lighting.

Finally, a strange-looking snowman was created. Its eyes were buttons from a coat, its nose was a carrot, and it was wearing a Santa Claus costume that Vegapunk had dug out of his wardrobe.

It was a full three times Milim's height, and the whole snowman was adorably ugly.

"It should be dark enough now. It's the perfect time for fireworks." Milim turned her head towards El and shouted, "El, light the fireworks!"

Hearing Milim's call, El didn't hesitate. He took out a lighter, lit the fuse of the fireworks, and then hurried back to Milim's side.

Milim shouted excitedly, "Vegapunk, hurry over! Let's take a group photo together."

"Torishishishishi, I'm coming." Vegapunk let out his strange laugh, his face bearing a childlike, innocent smile.

Vegapunk handed the camera to a nearby robot and hurried to Milim's side.

Milim stood in the middle, flanked by El and Vegapunk, with the giant snowman behind them. At that exact moment, the fireworks erupted.

Streaks of brilliant light shot into the dark sky, turning the pitch-black world into a kaleidoscope of colors as countless bursts of light exploded in the air.

The light also attracted some of the people of the science kingdom who were not asleep in the middle of the night. The crew of the Demon King sat by a tavern, drinking and looking up at the lights in the sky.

But the next moment, everyone stared in amazement at the flowers falling from the sky. Those who were sleeping were all awakened by the sound. They were a little angry at first, but then they saw the beautiful flowers drifting down.

Seeing the children playing cheerfully, they ended up with resigned smiles on their faces.

The image of Milim's group at this moment was also captured in the photograph.

The fireworks in the sky illuminated everyone's smiling faces, all so brilliant, so real.

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night. Everyone tacitly left their rooms and came outside to admire the beautiful scene!

Vegapunk watched the scene with tears in his eyes. "This is the effect I want technology to achieve. I hate things that can destroy peace. What I want to create are things that can make everyone smile."

"Heehee, Vegapunk, as long as I, Milim, am around, no one will force you to create those dangerous things." On this night sparkling with fireworks, Milim made a promise to the scientist who longed for peace.

Vegapunk looked at her brilliant figure, dazed for a moment, then let out a hearty laugh. "Torishishishi, that's truly wonderful."

A night of revelry; no one slept tonight.

As the night passed, the sky quickly brightened. Milim and Vegapunk, tired from playing, went back to the Demon King to sleep.

Vegapunk went to El's room to rest, while poor El and the crew of the Demon King had to fight off sleepiness and fatigue to steer the ship.

Milim had wanted to rest here for another day, but El disagreed no matter what, insisting on returning to Totto Land immediately, even if it meant enduring the sleepiness.

El could no longer imagine how many documents were piled up on his desk. If they delayed any longer, he would definitely be worked to death when he got back!

When Milim woke up again, it was just past noon. The sun was already very close to the west, about to set.

The twilight glow cast a golden sheen across the sea. Vegapunk was sitting on the edge of the ship at some point, staring blankly at the ocean.

Milim tiptoed up behind Vegapunk and jumped out suddenly. "Waah!"

"Ah!!" Vegapunk immediately threw up his hands to block, clearly startled.

"Hahahaha!" Seeing her prank succeed, Milim clutched her stomach and laughed heartily.

Seeing that it was Milim who had scared him, Vegapunk breathed a sigh of relief. "Really, Milim. Didn't you see I was thinking? It's a great taboo to disturb a scientist's thoughts, you know."

"What are you thinking about?" Milim hopped onto the ship's rail and sat down, tilting her head to look at Vegapunk.

"Sigh!" Vegapunk sighed, his eyes filled with emotion as he looked at the golden sea illuminated by the setting sun. "It's nothing, really. It's just my first time leaving my homeland, so I'm feeling a bit sentimental."

"I knew it. I was just about to say, your expression is just like Linlin's when she left the Lambs' House." Milim sat on the rail, swinging her legs, a happy smile still on her face.

"Charlotte Linlin, the king of Totto Land. And Charlotte Linlin is your younger sister, right?" Vegapunk asked curiously, looking at Milim.

He didn't expect to see Milim's face suddenly filled with emotion. "Finally! Someone who meets me and Linlin for the first time recognizes me as the older sister."

"Vegapunk, you've really moved me."

Vegapunk tilted his head in confusion. "You are the older sister, isn't that what's written in the newspapers?"

"Don't you know about the size difference between me and Linlin?"

"Torishishishi, I'm a scientist. I only believe in science, not in superficial things."
