Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Another alien war?

That makes some sense!"

Iron Man just nodded noncommittally at Nick Fury's words, without offering much comment.

Black Widow, however, joined in with a serious expression, supplementing Fury's analysis.

"If it's the first scenario, where a nuclear missile has entered the launch sequence but was forcibly terminated… Sir, that's not something one person can do."

"First, they would need extremely formidable intelligence, capable of knowing information from the White House or the Pentagon."

"Secondly, they would need to be intimately familiar with the entire launch process to deploy and arrange accordingly, which means they possess precise and extensive intelligence sources."

"Finally, they would need an exceptionally well-trained rapid response team, capable of carrying out this impossible mission according to their orders."

"Sir, simply put, this requires a person with considerable influence leading a well-equipped team to achieve."

"And among these four options, only you, Sir, meet the requirements."

"I can do all those things by myself," Iron Man interjected proudly from the side.

Black Widow rolled her eyes, completely ignoring the arrogant Iron Man.

Even though she greatly admired Iron Man as a rare scientific genius, she didn't believe he could accomplish such a feat.

Leaving aside other things, a command to launch a nuclear missile isn't gossip readily available online; there's no way Iron Man would know about it.

"And if it's the second scenario, where the nuclear missile has already been launched, then interception is basically impossible."

"Unless someone possesses power beyond conventional interception systems."

At this point, Black Widow glanced at Iron Man, "If that's the case, I believe only this arrogant man could achieve it."

Iron Man possesses technology far ahead of its time; if anyone had the greatest chance of intercepting a launched nuclear missile, it would undoubtedly be Iron Man.

"Or Thor," Nick Fury added, "If the opponent truly is a god from legend, possessing such means wouldn't be strange."

Black Widow shrugged, saying nothing, indicating her agreement.

That was a god, a god beyond humans; resolving a nuclear crisis would naturally be within their capabilities.

"So, that means we've only ruled out C, Agent Romanoff," Nick Fury said, feeling a slight headache.

The questions from this quiz system were a bit too imprecise.

However, this also indeed corroborated Coulson's deduction: answering might not be the goal; the true purpose of the quiz system was to inform everyone about the future in this way.

"Tony Stark, you haven't expressed much opinion," Nick Fury said, turning his gaze to Iron Man.

In fact, if it were the old Iron Man, he would have already made his choice; what Thor, Nick Fury, Black Widow, could they be as powerful as him?

The creation of a superhero feat like saving all of New York could only belong to him, Iron Man.

But after the last quiz, having witnessed the rewards and punishments of the quiz system firsthand, he naturally put away his casual attitude.

This question wasn't for fun.

A wrong answer could lead to a painful price!

So Iron Man had been thinking seriously, striving to analyze.

"I'm wondering what kind of war this Battle of New York might be," Iron Man mused to Nick Fury.

"So… what have you come up with?" Nick Fury, with his single eye, stared intently at Iron Man, asking for his opinion.

Iron Man was a veteran who had participated in a round of quizzes.

He naturally had more experience in this regard than Nick Fury.

"Just looking at the question stem, the information given is too little; we can only infer that it's a war that took place in New York, without any more information."

"However, if we look at it in conjunction with the options, we might discover something."

"If the four people in the question stem—me, Nick Fury, this agent lady, and Thor—all participated in this 'Battle of New York,' then what kind of war would it be?"

Black Widow on the side couldn't help but feel a little strange.

From Iron Man's tone, it sounded as if the Battle of New York mentioned in the question was actually happening.

"Thor is a god; to some extent, we can consider him an alien. A war that even an alien participates in is clearly not an ordinary war."

"Most likely, this is a war involving aliens; this war might be an alien invasion of New York."

Iron Man continued to speak eloquently.

In the past, he certainly wouldn't have come to a conclusion like an alien invasion of Earth.

But after the last quiz, Iron Man's mindset had greatly expanded and changed.

He knew that an alien invasion of Earth was not impossible.

Just like the End Game from the previous quiz, Thor should have joined the Earth's allied forces and, together with them, fought against the even more powerful alien, Thanos.

Iron Man even speculated that this so-called Battle of New York might also be a battlefield within the End Game.

Nick Fury nodded again.

As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., his perspective was already extraordinary, and he had even personally experienced similar events, so he naturally understood Iron Man's seemingly absurd words better than the average person.

"Considering that aliens probably wouldn't know how to use nuclear missiles, then this nuclear missile was most likely launched by us Earthlings."

"So the question is, why would we launch a nuclear missile?"

"Clearly, in this war, we Earthlings should be at a disadvantage, perhaps even on the verge of defeat, which is why the higher-ups would launch nuclear missiles, intending to eliminate the alien forces with such an extreme method."

"This is the 'nuclear crisis' mentioned in the question, because the nuclear missile would not only eliminate the alien forces but also flatten New York."

"And one of us four, to prevent this from happening, stepped forward and resolved the nuclear crisis."

"Sounds reasonable," Nick Fury nodded. "If all four of us participated in that great battle, my most likely role would be commanding the operations!"

"Then I can also be ruled out."

"Because I couldn't possibly be commanding a war against aliens while also orchestrating an operation to prevent a nuclear missile launch."

"So now, we only have two options left," Black Widow glanced at Iron Man. "Is it you, or the mythical Thor?"
