Highschool was a land of new opportunities or in my case more people i guess I'd have to fake smile alot this time be more presentable as my parents said but i didnt want that no i wanted peace having to know nobody or even start baseless conversations talking about my self like am a commodity put up for window shopping.
I figured the best way to avoid all of that was to be silent, smile less and well dress normally. I'd always be the first to arrive to class atleast the peace of an empty classroom is a sight to die for, everything in order no noise or people just you, a cold breeze on your face and the lights which of course was but a fleeting moment. Monday was always a fruitful day though same as the others to me but that abnormal thump of the heart sets your mind running in full gear looking at people's facial expressions, listening in to conversations to find out what is it.
"Ka thump" the heart continues fully throwing all caution to the wind the mind thinking of countless possibilities and the soul knowing full well we are doomed.
I closed my eyes with my head on the desk and started creating more problems than solutions in my mind wondering, guessing and at that moment it stopped perplexed i stopped to listen to my heart beating calmly you'd wonder if I dreamt that moment.
"Good morning class" a rusty voice seemed to silence the whole class even i was surprised.
"We have new lads here to join you so you better show them a good welcome. Introduce your self " the voice continued. Names rang out the 'you are welcome' trade mark rang out even i mouthed it silently.
"My name is Danirah and its nice to meet you all" a small but sweet voice rang out. I raised my head to see her intrigued that they had yet to say the trade mark.
"Shit" I whispered and she looked straight at me.
"Ka thump" the heart didn't disappoint.
