When the familiar dizzying sensation of traversing disappeared, Peter and Gwen were already standing on the hard concrete ground. The traversal was complete; they had finally returned to their own parallel Universe.

However, this was not the school corridor where they had been when they first traversed. Instead, it was the abandoned factory where they often conducted combat training. This was a location transfer Peter had specifically asked deep blue to make, aiming to minimize the impact of the traversal. If giant god soldier no. 1 had appeared in the school corridor in broad daylight, it would likely be trending on every social media app by the next morning.

Gwen was the first to adapt. She jumped directly from giant god soldier no. 1's shoulder and stretched comfortably, showcasing her almost golden ratio figure perfectly. Next, the back of the giant god soldier no. 1 made the sound of a gate opening, and Peter, clad in his battle suit, flew out.

He landed beside Gwen and, for a moment, he was dazzled by the beautiful sight before him, momentarily forgetting his next move. It wasn't until Gwen's gaze shifted to him that Peter snapped out of it and quickly asked deep blue for the precise time.

"deep blue! Tell me the precise time right now!"

deep blue's main body, still perched on giant god soldier no. 1's shoulder, flickered slightly, reconnecting to this Universe's network. Soon, it reported the time: it was still around five o'clock in the afternoon on the same day Peter and Gwen had traversed! Peter clearly remembered that they had left around nine o'clock in the morning.

Stroking his chin, Peter muttered to himself, "It seems the flow of time is different in parallel Universes! The time I spent there was about five days, but only half a day has passed here! It's a small piece of good news—it will be much easier to deal with Uncle Ben and Mei; at most, it's only half a day of truancy!"

Sorting the Gains

Just as Peter was considering his excuses, Gwen suddenly pulled her phone from her backpack. "Oh no! My phone is out of battery! I need to find somewhere to charge it, or my parents will be looking for me!"

Gwen, the heroic Superhero, had reverted to being a top student at Midtown High School, and her first thought was not to worry her parents. Peter immediately pointed at his AI. "For a small matter like charging, just leave it to deep blue; its energy is very abundant right now."

Gwen was overjoyed and jumped back onto the giant god soldier's shoulder to ask for help. deep blue acted as a large power bank while Peter took advantage of the lull to tally the gains from this trip:

Two upgrades and evolutions for deep blue.

giant god soldier no. 1 (The giant suit).

Spider-Man battle suit design blueprints (Gifted by Mei).

11,350 Integral (Points).

4 Skill Points.

The A-Rank Reward

Suddenly, a flashing message popped up on the system interface on Peter's retina:

"Congratulations! You have successfully resolved a crisis in a parallel Universe. Given that your crisis resolution level reached A-rank, you will receive a card draw as a reward!"

Peter raised an eyebrow. The gains were far more than he imagined. Four seemingly identical card images appeared, facing away from him. According to the system, these could be Special Materials, Design Blueprints, Characters, Equipment, Devices, or even Monsters.

Peter decided to follow his old habit: "Draw the first card on the left!"

The card enlarged, moved to the center, and slowly flipped open.

"Congratulations! You have drawn a Blue Advanced Character Card. It can be used at any time to summon the corresponding character to become your subordinate!"

Peter's pupils instantly constricted. The character was someone he felt very familiar with: Kelly Draidy!

"It's actually Kelly, that NPC from the DNF game? But then again, Kelly is indeed from Celestial, so it's quite reasonable for her to be summoned by the Celestial Tech system!"

Peter felt a bit dumbfounded. Although Kelly was a very useful NPC, he couldn't forget the experience of being scammed by her in the game, nor her classic line:

"Your equipment is pretty ordinary! Want to enhance it?"

Note for Readers: For those who haven't played the game DNF (Dungeon Fighter Online), Kelly is an equipment enhancement merchant. She is notorious for "scamming" players out of countless amounts of money because the enhancement process often fails, resulting in the loss of gold or the destruction of weapons. She is easily one of the most money-savvy—and infamous—merchant NPCs in the game.
