Dad cleared his throat, that deep rumble he used when he was pretending to be the big bad alpha parent, even though he was just some suit who kissed asses for votes, "Sit down, son, this isn't a joke," and I rolled my eyes so hard I felt it in my neck, but I flopped onto the armchair across from them, legs sprawled, "Fine, hit me with it, what's the latest ?"
