In the hospital room, Kaien and Sakura's figures were intertwined.
"Hoo~ hoo~ hoo~" Sakura gasped for air, her beautiful hair disheveled and scattered along the edge of the bed.
Her clothes were in complete disarray, her fair skin exposed to the air.
Sakura's small face was slick with sweat. Her body trembled uncontrollably, her legs weak as she collapsed onto the bed.
At this moment, she looked as though she had just been pulled out of water—completely drenched.
Beads of sweat glistened on her forehead, a thin sheen of perspiration covering her body.
"Sister Sakura," Kaien called in a low, hoarse voice.
"Mmm…" Sakura moaned softly, her pretty face flushed and dewy, rosy like a ripe apple.
"I love you." Kaien leaned down and pressed a deep kiss to Sakura's forehead, his arms tightening around her slender waist.
Sakura didn't respond. She simply hugged Kaien tightly, resting against him.
The two leaned together quietly. Sakura closed her eyes, savoring the brief moment of peace.
Suddenly, Sakura's eyes flew open.
She hurriedly sat up from Kaien's embrace, frantically smoothing her hair and clothes.
"What's wrong?" Kaien asked, seeing her panic.
"Someone's coming," Sakura said anxiously. She glanced at Kaien and whispered, "Quick, check if anything looks out of place."
Kaien shook his head.
Only then did Sakura finally let out a breath of relief.
"Click!"
The hospital room door opened, and Kushina's figure appeared in the doorway.
"Aunt Kushina, you're here!" Sakura said, secretly fixing her hair as she greeted her with forced calm.
"Mmm." Kushina nodded, her gaze immediately landing on Kaien. Seeing that he was awake, she quickly walked over.
"Kaien, you're awake! Are you alright? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Kushina sat beside the bed, her voice full of concern.
"Mother, I'm fine." Kaien patted his chest. "My bones are tough—I can take it!"
"You little rascal!" Kushina reached out and lightly flicked his forehead a few times.
"Aunt Kushina, since you're here, I'll go check on the other patients." Sakura didn't dare stay any longer, afraid something might be exposed.
"What exactly happened that day? How did you get hurt so badly?" Kushina asked.
"There was someone who called himself Ōtsutsuki Toneri. He tried to force my sister-in-law to marry him," Kaien explained roughly.
"What? Ōtsutsuki?!" Kushina exclaimed.
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, the name Ōtsutsuki was infamous.
"By the way, Mother, how long was I unconscious?" Kaien asked.
"Two days," Kushina replied. "Sakura said your injuries weren't serious—just extreme exhaustion."
"Two days?!" Kaien's expression changed. "Then my sister-in-law is in danger!"
He immediately threw off the blanket and tried to get up.
"What can you even do in this condition?" Kushina pressed him back down gently. "Don't worry—your Brother Naruto will handle it."
"But—"
"No 'buts.' Don't you trust your Brother Naruto?" Kushina glared at him. "Who do you think Naruto is? He's the man who sealed Ōtsutsuki Kaguya."
"Just rest properly. Don't think about anything else. We'll talk once your body recovers," Kushina said softly, stroking Kaien's hair.
Seeing her firm attitude, Kaien knew arguing was useless. He obediently lay back down.
Kushina smiled faintly, but then her brows furrowed as she noticed something.
"Kaien… why is your bedsheet wet?"
"Uh—well… I accidentally spilled some water earlier." Kaien quickly pulled the blanket over the damp spot.
"If it's wet, it should be changed," Kushina said, frowning.
"To change it, I'd have to get out of bed," Kaien replied awkwardly. "It's fine like this."
"You child, always lazy. It's soaked." Kushina scolded him lightly, then picked up the bedside phone and called the nurse station, asking for clean sheets.
A moment later, Sakura walked in carrying fresh bedding.
"Sakura? Why are you doing this?" Kushina asked in confusion. "Isn't this the nurse's job?"
"Uh… they're busy. I happened to be free," Sakura said, blushing.
After all, the wetness was her doing. There was no way she could let someone else deal with it.
"Come on, Kaien. I'll help you up," Kushina said, not thinking much of it.
Kaien actually felt fine. Otherwise, how could the bedsheet have ended up like that?
But since Kushina was personally helping him, he naturally had to pretend to be weak.
He leaned into her embrace deliberately, smiling contentedly.
"Thank you, Mother, for taking care of me. You're really good to me."
"Oh, you." Kushina gently poked his forehead, her tone indulgent.

The system notification rang in Kaien's mind, and the smile on his face instantly froze.
The mission time limits were getting shorter and shorter.
"What's wrong?" Kushina asked worriedly, noticing his expression change.
"N-Nothing. I'm just… still weak," Kaien said casually, continuing to act feeble in her arms.
Nearby, Sakura rolled her eyes silently. Weak? Then how did the bedsheet get that wet?
Still, she couldn't understand what Kaien was planning.
"Alright, lie back down carefully," Kushina said after the bed was changed.
She supported Kaien gently, helping him back onto the mattress.
As Kushina bent at the waist, Kaien's eyes lit up.
This is a chance.
If he "accidentally" pulled her down…
Quietly, Kaien reached out with his left hand and grasped Kushina's wrist—then suddenly let himself fall back onto the bed.
"Oh!"
Caught off guard, Kushina was pulled forward, falling straight onto Kaien's body.
