Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Fast Forwarding to...

Asa, who was thinking about reaping the fruits of William Birkin's labor, suddenly noticed a car behind him slowing down as it approached.

The car eventually stopped five meters in front of Asa, and as he drew closer, the window rolled down.

"Hey, boy, need a lift?"

It was her.

Several months had passed since their last meeting; he hadn't expected her to still be active in Raccoon City.

Although he recognized the beauty in the car as Ada Wong, Asa pretended not to know her.

In truth, it made no difference; Asa knew Ada Wong very well, but to her, he was just a person walking down the road with a pitiful-looking silhouette.

If it weren't for Asa East Asian face and the fact that he looked like a student, Ada Wong wouldn't have bothered to offer a stranger a ride.

"Ma'am, thank you very much!"

With a look of joy, Asa walked from the back of the car to the passenger side without hesitation, opened the door, and sat down.

"I'm going to Ennerdale Street, where are you headed?"

Ada Wong glanced at Asa face and spoke in a lazy tone.

"The Clock Tower, you can just drop me off there."

Asa said with a chuckle.

Since they were strangers, Asa appeared very shy, which instead piqued Ada Wong's interest.

As a freelance agent, Ada Wong was naturally well-traveled and had seen all kinds of men.

Having seen it all but remaining true to her heart, Ada Wong was not interested in men with silver tongues; she preferred innocent boys.

Asa appearance made him look like an innocent male college student.

Well, he was originally a good, innocent boy; eighteen was exactly the age for studying, and with little social experience, he appeared restless facing the cold and charming Ada Wong.

"Chinese?"

Ada Wong had sharp eyes and determined at a glance that Asa was from across the ocean.

"Yes!"

Asa replied directly in Chinese, saying with surprise:

"Sister, are you Chinese too?"

The word "Sister" made the corners of Ada Wong's mouth curl up. Her mature charm left Asa feeling lightheaded, so he had to open the car window and look at the scenery outside.

They chatted sporadically along the way; most of the time it was Ada Wong asking and Asa answering.

The car wasn't fast, but Raccoon City wasn't large.

Soon, the vehicle merged into the urban area and drove onto the main streets of Raccoon City.

"We're here, Sister."

After arriving at the street on the east side of the Umbrella Corporation headquarters, Asa reached his destination.

Opening the car door, he thanked Ada Wong and left immediately.

Ada Wong sat in the car and watched Asa walk away, her heart stirring.

Looking at where that boy was going... was it the Raccoon City Umbrella Corporation headquarters?

An agent's intuition told Ada Wong that things here were not simple.

Damn, I just forgot to ask his name.

...

The chance encounter with Ada Wong was just a small ripple.

If he wanted to team up with Ada Wong now, Asa couldn't fully reveal his abilities as he had in front of Jill Valentine.

It was not suitable to attract Ada Wong's attention for the time being; the two of them had no foundation of trust.

Asa life returned to tranquility.

Recording data was just a cover for his work; whenever he had the chance, Asa would use his Cyberoptics to secretly observe William Birkin's progress.

At the same time, he absorbed all kinds of knowledge like a sponge. What would be the point of coming to the resident evil world without mastering some knowledge of viruses?

The system's mechanics allowed Asa to get started quickly, but increasing proficiency was by no means an overnight task; it still required constant study and reflection.

Often, after breaking through a skill level, data and formulas that he previously couldn't understand would suddenly become clear.

Babysitting, studying—his life was simple, a straightforward commute between two points.

Asa also didn't forget to follow the movements of Jill Valentine, Barry, and the others.

After the two returned to Raccoon City, they immediately set about contacting reporters, preparing to disclose everything about the Umbrella Corporation.

Jill Valentine's execution was very strong; she joined forces with Barry to convince the vast majority of S.T.A.R.S. members and found a well-known reporter named Alyssa to publicly expose the Umbrella Corporation's actions to all of Raccoon City and even the entire American society.

On the second day after the report was filed under their real names, the Raccoon City Hospital issued a medical certificate stating that the S.T.A.R.S. team had suffered from collective hysteria due to the illegal use of drugs. Chief Brian stood firmly on the side of the Umbrella Corporation, and the Training Facility in the suburbs mysteriously exploded, causing all evidence to vanish in the blast.

However, it was all in vain; Asa directly exposed the evidence of Chief Brian receiving bribes from the Umbrella Corporation, while also exposing that Wesker, despite being a director of an Umbrella Corporation research base, was Jill's superior.

Not only conducting human experiments on Raccoon City residents and bribing city officials but also planting spies in law enforcement agencies—Umbrella's actions caused a massive uproar.

The public took to the streets to protest, and the FBI, CIA, and IRS swarmed in like sharks that had scented blood. Chief Brian was arrested, and investigators discovered a large number of bodies of young women in his home.

Of course, things were not entirely smooth sailing.

During the arrest operation, the Umbrella Corporation spy, Albert Wesker, completely disappeared. No one knew where he had gone.

Misfortunes never come singly; in the mountains, the city, and residential areas, vicious murders and cannibalism cases emerged one after another. Elite police officers like Jill Valentine were ordered to investigate the murders occurring in the city.

Raccoon City's police force was severely understaffed, leading to a new round of expansion where large numbers of excellent graduates were either recruited or invited.

Busy with the gradually escalating murder cases, Jill Valentine's heart was thinking of someone else.

Asa, a boy and a perfect virus host, had completely disappeared after their parting at the Training Facility; no one knew where he had gone.

Jill Valentine told the public everything about Umbrella but concealed Asa existence.

She kept the shared secret of them both being compatible hosts and wanted to investigate Asa whereabouts, but she simply couldn't find the time.

Late at night, Jill Valentine would mutter to herself:

"Where did you go?"

While Umbrella was franticly destroying evidence and seeking connections, they discovered that a biohazard leak had unknowingly broken out in the laboratory located in the Arklay Mountains, turning the entire research base into a living hell of flesh and blood.

A new dungeon has appeared; remember to go grind it.

Asa seemed to hear such a prompt.

While the American branch of Umbrella was teetering in the wind and rain, William Birkin, located in the underground facility, was still focusing intently on developing his G-Virus.

He had no choice but to work; seeing that the great tree of Umbrella was about to collapse, if he didn't produce a token of allegiance to give to a new master, folks, do you think he could still survive?

So William Birkin worked even harder, to the point of being completely oblivious to the outside world.

Thus, in a month's time, Asa, right under William Birkin's nose, used the Umbrella Corporation's equipment, his increased proficiency in biology and pharmacology, and a little help from specialized equipment from the world of 2077, along with his own blood as raw material, to successfully create two types of serums.

T-Hope.

T-Evolution.
