"Hello."
Out of politeness, Asa replied.
"Also, I'm here to report a case."
Asa said; having already cleared her dungeon in advance, he was considering how they might run a dungeon together next time and fire some handguns.
Otherwise, if he didn't go for the favorability rewards of the main characters, how would he be any different from a salted fish?
Rebecca immediately felt a bit embarrassed and hurried to apologize.
"Sorry, I saw you standing here and thought you were like me..."
"It's fine."
"However, you shouldn't have come; this isn't a good place to work."
Rebecca wasn't someone who judged by appearances, but she couldn't understand the meaning behind Asa words. Feeling that the Asian youth before her had a somewhat strange temperament, she quickly put away her map and made an excuse to walk into the police station.
"Sorry, I have to go report for duty."
Asa scratched his head. Under normal circumstances, shouldn't the officer lady ask why?
That way, Asa could have smoothly revealed a bit of the conspiracy and directly issued an invitation to run a dungeon.
"Hi, I know a great place full of bio-monsters. A righteous person like you surely won't stand idly by, right?"
"Let's head to the mansion above first, find the items, and after some battles, open the gate to the underground lab. We'll uncover the truth of the research facility, defeat the final boss, and finally escape the lab before the self-destruct countdown ends, embracing each other in the morning light—don't you think that's romantic?"
Unfortunately, Rebecca didn't give him the chance to use his combo.
With a soft sigh, Asa entered the main gate.
Asa was far too familiar with the internal structure of the police station. The entrance was the main hall; the west side of the first floor was the patrol office area, including the citizen reception room, west office, briefing room, records room, operations room, and so on.
The east side was the detective work area, interrogation rooms, evidence room, firing range, etc.
The west area of the 2nd floor was allocated to the S.T.A.R.S. Team, while the east side held the Chief's office, the art room, and others.
The 3rd floor contained the clock tower and storage rooms. The first basement level held the parking garage, jail cells, kennels, etc., while the second basement level was for equipment and power generation.
Further down, there were bottomless limestone caves.
The Raccoon City Police Department in reality was almost identical to the one in the game. As soon as Asa entered the hall, he was facing the reception center.
"Officer, I'm looking for Officer Jill Valentine! I have something very important to tell her!"
The officer at reception handed over a form, indicating he should register first.
Fine, there's no escaping this anywhere.
After filling out the form, the officer told Asa that Jill Valentine had gone to the Warren Street residential area on a mission today, and her return time was uncertain.
He hadn't expected that after Jill reported the Chief and Umbrella Corporation, she hadn't been put on leave yet. It seemed the city's public security had deteriorated to a point where the police station couldn't spare any more manpower.
He wouldn't be seeing her today.
"Then please give this note to Officer Jill, thank you."
Asa left a note with a scheduled time and place and left the Raccoon City Police Department directly.
It was still early. Asa had a property in Raccoon City left by his background-story parents, including a car.
Asa home was located south of Raccoon City High School, opposite the Good Taste Chinese Restaurant. When he had lunch with Sherry Birkin last time, Asa didn't even know he owned a house; he only found out later after switching to the Hacker Operating System to check his data.
A two-story, duplex mansion.
The thought that his big house would be worthless after the Raccoon City crisis made Asa heart ache.
Umbrella Corporation, you have already found your path to death.
"Then I'll drive over and clear the Arklay dungeon while I'm at it."
Asa thought casually.
Asa high school grades weren't ideal, but he had managed to get his driver's license.
America is known as a nation on wheels; the importance of a driver's license goes without saying. Last time he went to the Arklay Mountains, the police beauty helped with the driving, and Asa was happy to relax. This time, running the dungeon alone, Asa had to do it himself.
Sitting in the car, Asa seamlessly switched to the Cyberpunk 2077 equipment bar.
The resident evil equipment bar currently provided only one skill—Regeneration—which naturally couldn't compare to the dazzling array of cyberware.
Asa appearance changed accordingly. Two silver metal lines ran across his face, the whites and pupils of his Cyberoptics became distinct, a layer of optical material was hidden beneath his skin, and ports and wiring appeared at the back of his head and in his palms.
From top to bottom, except for his bones and his junk, almost everything had been swapped out.
His Cyberoptics lit up with blue light. Asa took a moment to install an auto-scan plug-in; enemies, cameras, circuit nodes, and turrets within ten meters would now be automatically marked.
He drove west along Ennerdale Street, entered the West City Highway, and then headed north, driving straight into the Arklay Mountains.
Along the way, police cars whistled past from time to time. Asa even saw a police car parked by the roadside, where a Black police lieutenant was saying something into a radio.
It was someone he recognized, Lieutenant Marvin.
He looked exactly like his image in the game; that dark cloud over his brow suggested a bloody disaster was inevitable in his future.
The car quietly passed Lieutenant Marvin's patrol car. Marvin took a glance and continued arguing with his walkie-talkie.
Unlike a month ago, a brand new sign had been erected on the way to the Arklay Mountains.
"Bears spotted on the mountain. Please do not go up recently."
The frequent cannibalism incidents in the Arklay Mountains had alerted the Raccoon City Police Department, but due to a lack of manpower, they could only put up a sign to warn visitors.
During the summer weekends, the number of people going up for camping had decreased significantly.
Those who weren't stupid had already packed their bags and fled Raccoon City.
Those who were foolish were still thinking about going camping on the mountain.
But that car in front—Asa was sure he hadn't seen wrong—was Ada Wong's signature vehicle.
Clearly, Ada Wong belonged to the type who could just pull a trick and have a bunch of honest men risk their lives for her; she definitely wasn't one of the foolish ones.
A month ago, he had even hitched a ride with her, but unfortunately, Ada Wong hadn't given him a chance to leave his contact info.
She was here too.
Asa realized that Ada Wong was here to steal the T-Virus. At this time, the simp John Clemens had died after being infected with the T-Virus, having changed the account passwords to 'John' and 'Ada' to show his feelings.
But a simp is a simp in the end. John's looks weren't up to par, and he had the traits of a 'nice guy,' causing Ada Wong's heart to be as hard as iron. She only had one goal: the T-Virus sample and the research data.
Realizing Ada Wong's goal was the same as his, Asa slowed down and trailed slowly behind her vehicle.
Crossing the Arklay Mountains and passing the Seclua River, the mansion sat amidst the forest. Two vehicles were already parked in front of the main gate.
