Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Eva looked at her with a mixture of fear and worry, not exactly sure how to react. "what is wrong? are you alright?" She asked in panic.

"You are soooo beautiful. I'm Jayne and your new best friend." Jayne said to Eva with a huge smile and a stretched arm to shake her.

Eva just looked at her with confusion. "Excuse me?"

"I am Jayne, your best friend and we're going to survive the school life together. You're a new student, right? It's obvious you're a new student. You know what? I will show you around school when we get down but first… what's my bestie's name" Jayne said bubbling with life and possibly every positively charged thing in the universe.

Eva listened to this girl who just kept talking like she was in a speed contest and all she got from her was her name, her word to show her around school and her question "I am Eva" she said hoping Jayne would stop there. "To think a life form of so much energy could exist…" Eva thought to herself as she watched Jayne, ramble on and on until the bus arrived at the school.

One thing was sure; Eva couldn't keep up with Jaynes energy. Eva stood up, the moment the bus stopped and proceeded towards the door, from the encounter with her new best friend "and I thought friendship was a two way thing" she thought to herself as she tried to lose Jayne in the crowd. She stepped of the bus and stared in awe. Her new school was a sight to behold. The building stood tall, elegant yet modest. From the looks of it, school life here was going to be a whole lot different than before.

Eva was still staring, taking in the sights of it all when small hand crept up her shoulder. "Magnificent, isn't it?" Jayne asked, basically appearing out of nowhere. Eva turned "Oh, I forgot about her"

"Let's move; the sooner we start, the sooner we finish before class starts" Jayne said pulling Eva along. "Wait, start what?" Eva asked, following behind. "The tour, of course." Jayne responded as she pulled her, taking her from class to class and telling her all about the crazy things about them. As overactive as Jayne seemed to be, Eva seemed to like her company. Maybe the crazy girl sheolef on the bus today isn't so bad.

On their way to the principal office, they were blocked by four girls in the hallway. Form the looks of it all, they were all around the same age with Eva and Jayne, most likely in the same class as well. Everything they wore was overly expensive and extravagant "The school divas" Eva thought to herself. "Hey, new girl right?" one of the girls asked in a condescending tone, a smirk plastered on her face. Eva just stared at them for a moment and sight, cursing her luck for all the attention she's received in such a short timespan. They all looked her at her, they seemed to be sizing her up. Eva wasn't one to dress extravagantly but she wasn't one to dress overly modest either. The girls looked at each other, sharing a look of approval amongst themselves.

Eva watched carefully. Her gaze was cold and calculative , trying to get a read on the girls that stood before her. She guessed they were probably trying to determine if she and Jayne were up to their standards.

"How would you like to join us for lunch?" the girl in the middle finally spoke, breaking the silence. From the way she stood, it seems like she was the leader of the girl group, a figure of enigma and mystery. Her long black hair flowed down her back and her piercing emerald eyes stood out. She stepped forward a bit, stopping in front of Eva, clearly awaiting her reply. Before Eva could reply Jayne spoke in her defense

"She will be with me the whole day, especially during lunch." Jayne said, glaring at the Liora, standing in front of them, her arm crossed over Eva's shoulder like she was claiming ownership of her.

"Excuse me we don't speak 'weirdo'." one of the other girls pitched in "…and you, new girl" Liora continued, completely ignoring Jayne's existence "you're invited to sit with us at lunch, we will be expecting you." She smirked before walking off and thinking to herself "There's something intriguing about that girl". The other girls followed behind her.

"Don't pay attention to them, you are with me the whole day. They basically just hate me because I accidentally spilled my drink all over them this one time." Jayne said with a shrug as they continued walking down the halls. "The girl in the front that acts like the boss, that's Liora. Her father is one of the biggest sponsors of the school; making her untouchable and very influential.

The bell rang, interrupting them "Ah, time for class I guess." Eva finally spoke. "C'mon, you can sit next to me. The walked to class as quickly as they could, arriving moments before the teacher. They both settled down. Eva took a deep breath and analysed the room. She was sitting in between the Liora and Jayne.

Halfway into the class, Eva flet something hit her head. She looked down to see a small piece of paper with an intricate handwriting. She looked over in the direction the paper came from and notices Liora smiling at her. She sighed and took the paper. It read; "Hey new girl, can I get your name? Perhaps get to know you even." She wrote back and threw the paper to Liora.

"It's Eva. I'm not really a people person.". Liora smiled as she read the note, her interest and curiosity only grew.

"I'm not either but you seem interesting enough"

"And what is it you find so intriguing about me?"

"That aura. You're quiet, observant and very calculative. You're… simply someone I can't take my eyes of and honestly, I'm not even half sure why"

Eva looked over to see Liora with a smirk on her face, watching keenly to see her next move. Eva wrote back "I guess we'll be seeing at lunch then…"

Liora reads the message and a wave of satisfaction washes over her. She thinks to herself "See you then… Eva".
