"Matt, follow me." As soon as the lecture ended, Teacher Elizabeth's eyes were on him, telling him to follow her.
"Same with you, both of you should follow me now." She turned to the young man who had his hands deformed.
Matt was surprised that she knew his name but had no option other than to follow her. Both of them followed her to her office that was within the academic building.
Her office was above the classroom; the stairs leading to it were cloaked. If not that they followed her, they would have been lost.
In her office, she sat down, her strict face on both of them, keeping them in suspense.
"You guys have violated one of the rules of the academy. Since this is your first time, I would be lenient towards you. So your punishment for the day is reading five books from their library," she said,
When they both heard this, they were delighted, thanking her, "Don't forget this is your last chance. Matt, still waiting behind."
The young man heard this, a bit surprised by what Matt was stopped by, but it didn't concern him. Matt looked at Teacher Elizabeth, thinking of why he was stopped.
"Matt Garfield, according to records I am seeing, you came from Blackwater City, lost your parents at the age of eight, you have a younger sister named Mia, and you awakened a D-rank absorb talent...."
Matt watched as details of him and his family were said; this made him feel chills, looking at Teacher Elizabeth, who was also smiling at him.
"Do you know the state of injury you caused to the young man?" she said coldly,
"His bones had cracked, his muscles almost tearing, making his hands deformed. My question for you is, How were you able to do it?"
"The person we are referring to has opened one of his veins, and yet you caused such damage to him," she scrutinized. Matt was surprised that the young man had opened a vein.
Teacher Elizabeth's eyes were on him. Matt shook his head. "Teacher, I haven't been able to open any veins. I was also shocked when I saw what my fist did." A sad aura was emitted by Matt.
Her eyes were on him as he kept trying to emit that aura, because he didn't intend to let out how many veins he had opened.
"Let me check it myself." Her words the next moment turned Matt into a stupor, as he realized the trouble he was in now.
He looked at Teacher Elizabeth standing in front of him, hoping she didn't find it out.
As Teacher Elizabeth checked him, he didn't know how she did it, but he felt everything in him was exposed to her,
He was shocked, never expecting such a means.
Teacher Elizabeth used her will to probe into Matt's body, finding out his situation. But she was disappointed when she saw that none of his veins had awakened.
When Matt saw her disappointed expression, he felt like she didn't see the unlocked thirteen Veins. Even though he doesn't know why, it was good news.
"It seems you aren't lying." Matt felt his body was now free, as if a heavy load had been unblocked from him.
"You can leave," Teacher Elizabeth said, waving her hands, losing interest in Matt.
Matt bowed as a courtesy, leaving the office. As expected, as he reached the lecture room, he saw that Eira was still waiting for him; this caused his heartstrings to be pulled.
He explained to her what had happened. He looked at her, intended to tell her about the four hidden veins, but he kept his mouth shut because it could bring danger to both of them.
This was another episode for Matt.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye; Matt has been serving his punishment. Without the help of the school watch and interface, he was able to get the location of the library. Also, he had been unblocking his minor veins, the minor veins of the Lumin Vein. Each main vein had minor veins; as for how many, Matt doesn't know.
They were reaching thousands per each main vein, which made him realize that he might take a long time dealing with this, but he didn't get disheartened because he knew when he opened all of them, his entire being and life would change.
He reached the library, only to be blocked and asked what his purpose was. He told the person in charge that he was to serve a punishment given by Teacher Elizabeth: reading five books.
After confirmation, he was allowed into the library. Matt had thought the punishment would be easy, but seeing the voluminous books that were before him, he realized why they were given such punishment.
He went to the books in the library; he couldn't count them as there were more than hundreds of them. Asking the librarian about where information about Requiem and Devils was, he began his readings.
This was an opportunity for him. Matt tried to find out whether he could find something related to the opening of thirteen veins, but there was nothing.
As he was reading today, even though the library was a quiet place, groups of people were still discussing, but not loud enough to disturb others.
Because Matt increased his six senses, he could hear them clearly,
"Do you hear the news that the girl who awakened an SS Ice talent has reawakened again, and the problem is that it's not ordinary talent; she awakened another SS Talent," one of them said in envy.
"What a lucky girl!? Some people are just blessed with envy"
Matt who was by the side reading , paused; he was shocked. He never expected her to reawaken, and it wasn't an ordinary talent.
"Oh, I heard that there was trash who thinks that he can woo her; if he's smart, it's better to distance himself from her."
"Yeah, I heard that some seniors are interested in her, even though her background looks unusual. That trash would just be eliminated."
Matt clenched his fists together, hearing this. For a moment, he wanted to rush to them and tell them he's a genius.
He took a deep breath, clearing all his thoughts from his mind.
A flower does not bloom overnight—it must weather many seasons before it reveals its true beauty.
When he blooms, his beauty will outshine everyone.
He left the library, losing interest already.
