"Ahh! King, I died again!"
Saitama stared at the ceiling, soulless.
"You totally cranked the difficulty, didn't you? You said you'd lowered it!" He glared, aggrieved.
"I can't even beat the tutorial mobs! Isn't this where you learn the controls? How is this reasonable!?"
Lin Mo fought to keep a straight face.
On the screen, Saitama's avatar lay in an exquisitely humiliating pose. GAME OVER blazed across the UI.
"Ahem." Lin Mo cleared his throat, smothering a smile.
"Saitama-kun, you… managed to eat every single enemy skill with frame-perfect precision, then whiff all your own, and finally get toyed to death…"
He suspected that if he uploaded Saitama's gameplay, it would go viral as "Peak Human Confusion."
"Hey, you were laughing at me!" Saitama protested.
"No. I'm admiring you—reaching heights no one else can in an entirely different field," Lin Mo said solemnly.
"Really? Guess I've got talent!" Saitama revived instantly, snatched the controller, and locked onto the screen. "Watch me beat this jerk!"
Lin Mo shook his head. Saitama really had no gaming talent…
An unknown house in City D.
"My goal… is to be the strongest in the world!"
A shirtless, muscle-bound man bench-pressed like a madman, muttering, "To be the strongest—that's my sole, ultimate dream!"
On the wall opposite hung a massive poster—King's last ad.
King's face was severe, eyes deep; even his stance radiated supremacy. Beside him, bold characters read: "The Strongest Man Alive—King!"
Staring at that stern face, the man reaffirmed his conviction. "Just wait, King! I will surpass you! I'll stand atop the world!"
At that moment, delighted shrieks erupted from the other end of the basement, a cramped lab crammed with beakers, tubes, and instruments.
"The ultimate steroid—Biceps King—is finally, finally complete!"
A scrawny man in a lab coat and thick goggles held up a vial of strawberry-colored sludge, ecstatic.
He ran to his training brother and thrust the vial toward him, bursting with pride.
"Brother! Drink it! With this, the absolute power you've dreamed of will be yours instantly!"
"I even made it strawberry-flavored, just like you like!"
The brother's face filled with emotion.
"Brother…" he rasped.
Without hesitation, he snatched the vial dubbed Biceps King and downed it in one gulp.
A searing flood tore down his throat and detonated in his gut.
"AAAAAH!"
His body swelled at a speed visible to the naked eye; his too-tight tank top shredded.
"Success! Success!" the older brother cackled, not the least bit afraid.
In the split second before the younger brother's body annihilated the basement, the older leapt lightly onto his now-mountainous shoulder.
City D's downtown.
The younger brother had become a colossus blotting out the sky.
Skyscrapers hundreds of meters tall were like toy blocks before him—most didn't even reach his knees.
He took a single, casual step.
KRA-THOOM.
A street became rubble, a deep footprint its only trace.
"Hahaha! The serum works! My research is sound!" the elder yelled into the high winds, arms flung wide atop the giant's shoulder.
"With your ultimate body and my unrivaled mind, we brothers will conquer everything!"
The giant felt the surge coursing through him. He lifted an arm and waved absently.
The wind pressure alone became an invisible shockwave that scythed through block after block.
Concrete and steel folded like paper. In moments, the city center lay in ruins.
"Yes… this is the power I wanted!" the younger brother exulted.
He looked down at the tiny sand-table city underfoot, excitement mounting.
"Even that so-called 'strongest man alive,' King, is just an ant I can crush with a finger!"
"Splendidly done, brother!" the elder's eyes shone. He pointed ahead and gave the next order.
"After you flatten this place, on to the next! Let the world tremble before us!"
Hero Association HQ.
Around a huge ring-shaped table, core executives sat with grave faces. The air was so heavy it felt like it might drip.
"Latest report! City D's destruction has passed eighty percent—update: eighty-three! The giant is moving toward City C…"
The Intel officer's voice shook. On the screen, a drone's live feed played the devastation.
"Damn it! Where did that monster come from?" an exec slammed the table.
"That's not the point now!" a stocky exec with sharp eyes cut in.
"Sound the alarm! Dispatch the S-Class immediately! Use every channel to evacuate civilians along the path—whatever it takes!"
He drew a deep breath and made the call:
"This disaster is classified—Dragon."
"Dragon." The word fell like a hammer into every heart.
It meant multiple cities could be wiped out—the highest level of disaster alert.
Every back straightened. Chairs scraped as they rose in unison. "Understood!"
