The stage was set.
Bella was sound asleep.
Jade had several pillows under her twin bed's blankets to look like she was in bed. Instead she stood in the shadows of the closet. Covered in a hooded cloak that covered her features but still allowed her to see.
A video camera was set up filming the window.
And in Edward came his gaze first going to where Bella slept before it turned toward the camera his brow furrowing.
In Italian, "1 mind-reader for Aro Volturi coming up." Before Jade pointed at Edward and wiped his memories of Bella Swan, then quickly cast Morphiate. Edward Cullen shrunk until he became a figurine of himself. Coming over to the camera she showed the figurine to it, "You have two hours after receiving this video to give the winning bid on the auction of this very limited item. Starting bid 1 million USD." With a smile she shut off the camera before she set up the computer with the listing and scheduled the eBay bidding war. Not that she expected anyone else to bid on it, but you never know. Still in her cloak and disguise she teleported to the Volturi castle startling the front desk lady.
"Please make sure this recording gets to Aro Volturi immediately." She had a backup plan if he didn't get it, but she'd prefer not to hand deliver the copy if she didn't have to. Handing over the drive, she felt an approaching presence coming quickly to her side and so she vanished without a trace. She sighed as she returned to her bedroom, she wish she had time to look around. She shrugged maybe next time.
After getting back to her pjs and making sure her memory wipe included anything Edward might see as a figurine, she turned his figurine around so he faced the window before she watched the auction go live.
Surprise surprise there were 10 bidders. She did call it a rare collector's item called the Mind Reader but she thought it vague enough it wouldn't get any other bidders, even collectors, especially with the starting bid being so high.
For a hour she watched as the bidders dwindled down to 2 as the bidding amount rose to $3 million. Who in their right mind would be bidding for it....unless one of the others of the Volturi coven heard about it and was pulling a prank on Aro. Brave soul that one.
Finally with $5 million, Jade gaped, the bidding stopped and when she saw who won she sighed in relief. After making sure the money went through to her off-shore account, she picked up the figurine that had slowly been starting to grow again, and donned her disguise along with black mask and teleported to the Volturi throne room.
"What do we have here?" Came the giddy voice of the dark haired king in the center throne.
In Italian again, "I'm only delivering what you paid for, Your Majesty." Jade bowed but kept her eyes checking her peripherals.
Setting Edward on the ground, the room watched as he returned to his normal shape and form.
He looked around in utter confusion, but Jade ignored him. Her gaze fixed upon the red eyes of the youngest looking of the kings.
"King Marcus, please look out for my letter."
Marcus looked up his melancholy gaze clearing for a moment only to gasp but Jade couldn't stay.
"Ciao ciao." And she teleported away.
