Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Being Knighted as a Viscount, Sharing a Bed on the Wedding Night!

"Hey, have you heard? Lord Lucian Harrow got married again!"

"Who hasn't? Harrow Manor invited everyone in Frostspire City. Not just nobles, they even said commoners could come for some food."

"Sure thing. Who doesn't know that Mr. Lucian is such a kind guy? They say the girl he married is super pretty. But nobody's seen her yet."

"Of course she's pretty. Otherwise, how could she be good enough for Mr. Lucian? I say, Frostspire City is lucky to have Mr. Lucian!"

A few days later, news of Lucian's wedding spread all over Frostspire City.

As the most powerful supernatural being in Frostspire City, every move Lucian Harrow made touched the hearts of a lot of people. Plus, Harrow Manor had the best treatment and situation. A lot of people were trying to get in as servants. So of course, the news spread super fast.

But with that came some not-so-nice voices.

"Hey, did you hear? Mr. Lucian married a foreign woman. She's an elf, I think. Is that true?"

"Are you kidding me? How could an elf woman ever catch Mr. Lucian's eye? Maybe you heard wrong. Where did you get that from?"

"Word is it came from Harrow Manor. And not just that, some elves joined Harrow Manor too."

"What? Is that true? Is Mr. Lucian marrying an elf just to get their loyalty?"

People were talking all over the place, but no one really thought Lucian married the elf on his own.

To most people, an elf woman was just like a woman from the Red Lands. You could play around with them, but you'd never actually bring one into your family. That would be a big no-no. Even if Lucian was a supernatural, he wouldn't go that far, right?

But no matter what people thought, Lucian Harrow's wedding still went on as planned.

At the wedding, Grace was running around, helping her mistress get ready.

Even though Grace was much younger than Margarethe, she could be her granddaughter. But elves live a long time, so Margarethe, at that age, was still basically a girl.

Plus, this was Margarethe's first time getting married. She didn't even have much experience being around men. With such a strange place, she was naturally a bit nervous.

But Grace was a mom of two kids, so she knew what to do. She was getting Margarethe ready while saying, "Margarethe, don't be too nervous. It's just a formality. You'll have a lot of time to get to know each other later."

Margarethe heard that, and her nervous heart calmed down a bit. She gave Grace a little angry look and said, "You really are annoying. Why didn't you try to talk Mr. Lucian out of it? If this gets out, it's going to hurt him a little at least."

Grace didn't get angry. She just smiled a little and said, "Mr. Lucian is a big shot. He has his own opinions. How could we women even change his mind? If he wants to give you a title, then just take it. It won't be a problem."

"Besides, I think Mr. Lucian doesn't want you to suffer. Keeping you as a secret lover is no big deal, but he wants to give you a real name. I agree with Mr. Lucian on that."

When she heard that, Margarethe's heart warmed up. She knew very well that Lucian understood what it meant to marry an elf. He knew it would affect him in some way. But he still did it. He still wanted to give her a real name.

She remembered that kindness in her heart, but she still couldn't accept Lucian's choice.

Margarethe wanted to say something else, but Grace waved her hand and stopped her.

"Okay, you're all ready now. What you need to do is go out there, look beautiful, and marry Mr. Lucian. The rest doesn't need you to worry about."

"Mr. Lucian will handle everything. He wouldn't do it unless he had his own reasons."

Margarethe's face changed a little when she heard that, then she nodded and stepped out of the room, wearing a white wedding dress.

The standard wedding ceremony went on as planned. On such a happy day, even if they saw with their own eyes that Mr. Lucian's wife was actually an elf, they didn't say anything. Their faces were all full of praise and congratulations.

It was okay to talk behind his back.

But if you dared to say something in front of Lucian, his 3rd Stage Knight power wasn't for nothing. You might turn this happy day into a sad one for yourself.

The nobles in Frostspire City might not have high titles, but they all knew how to act. Of course, they wouldn't want to make Lucian angry at the wrong time. Anyone could see that Lucian gave the elf a name, either because he really loved her, or because he was an idiot. Either way, it wasn't smart to make him angry right now.

As for Lucian's real thoughts? They weren't as complicated as people thought.

He just didn't care what the nobles thought. The Gift of the Breeder was his real power. As long as he could have kids, he would slowly become stronger and stronger until he reached the top.

This might not be something the nobles would like, but it would get some other people's approval. That was the other races. If he was willing to give an elf a name, he'd also be willing to give a dragon, a beastman, or even a demon a name.

This was super important for his future marriage plans. After all, the talent of the children wasn't just about Lucian himself. It was also about his wives. If he could have a kid with a dragon, a demon, or even an angel, the improvement in talent would be unimaginable.

Of course, all of this was something that couldn't be talked about outside.

The wedding lasted all day, with everyone having a great time. Just as the night was falling and the wedding was about to end, an unexpected person arrived at Harrow Manor.

"Mr. Lucian."

A man in imperial noble clothes held a scroll and walked up to Lucian.

Lucian looked at the man and recognized him. He was an imperial envoy, a noble. The people around him realized this too and all knelt on one knee, lowering their heads.

Lucian didn't kneel, of course. Supernaturals were above commoners. The empire had rules—supernaturals didn't need to bow to nobles.

But respect was still needed. After Lucian invited the man to sit, he asked slowly, "Your Honor, what brings you here?"

The imperial envoy spoke slowly, "Mr. Lucian, you exposed the Brown family's secret deal with Freezing City, and saved the empire's people from danger. I'm here to reward you."

"Lucian Harrow, due to your great service, you are hereby appointed as a Viscount, with the territory of the old Ironforge Brown estate!"

That sentence made the people around him gasp.

A viscount right off the bat? That was pretty rare.

The imperial titles were: Duke, Marquis, Earl, Viscount, and Baron. The Duke and Marquis were way above the rest, and only the highest nobles could reach those levels.

A Viscount was already the top for commoners.

Yet Lucian got it so easily, and it was even a special promotion. It was obvious the empire valued him a lot.

"Nothing's that simple, Your Honor," Lucian said, not showing any excitement. The empire wasn't a charity, and giving him a title like this probably came with a job.

"You're sharp, Viscount Lucian. The empire is assigning you to investigate the Brown family's Mana Blocker incident."

Lucian thought, Exactly what I expected. He frowned slightly, but still accepted the assignment.

Now, with a title, he could move around a lot easier.

After sending the envoy off, the wedding was officially over. Margarethe looked at Lucian, her face full of shyness.

Grace giggled, "I won't bother you two on your wedding night."

She hadn't even finished speaking when she let out a small scream and was pulled into Lucian's arms.

"This time, it's your wedding night, so I'll finally get to experience what it's like to have sex with two women at once. Cough, that's a real scumbag move."
