Margarethe nodded.
All the elves suddenly fell silent, not saying a word for a long time.
Lucian got a rejection, which was funny but also a bit annoying. But as he listened to the elves talking about some mysterious legends, he suddenly got interested and felt a bit curious.
"Speak already, don't just stop here and play mind games."
Lucian thought to himself.
But the elves clearly lost interest in talking, and no one said a word. Seeing that, Lucian just sighed in his heart and continued leading the elves toward the place where Harrow Manor was.
He couldn't just go up and ask the elves what their legends were. That would make it obvious he was eavesdropping.
Well, maybe it wasn't a big deal anyway. Getting a group of elves was already a big surprise. At least Olivia's knight tutor was taken care of, and Lucian wouldn't have to be a babysitter all day.
Thinking like that, everyone went back to Harrow Manor, each lost in their own thoughts.
"Mr. Lucian, this is our new child."
Even though she was a mother now, Grace still called Lucian the same way. She was still as obedient as ever, keeping everything inside.
Lucian gently hugged Grace and said softly, "You've worked hard these days. Now you can rest. Let the servants take care of the rest."
Grace lay in Lucian's arms, feeling his body warmth, and then said slowly, "Mr. Lucian, you haven't given the baby a name yet. This one is a boy. He looks as handsome and good-looking as you."
Hearing Grace's words, Lucian smiled.
This wasn't just love making him see her as beautiful. Lucian was in his middle age, had some scars, but his charm never changed. His deep, peach-like eyes and strong, handsome face gave him a cool and attractive look.
Just that face was enough to make tons of girls fall for him.
And he was a supernatural being, with perfect posture and an upright body. Just standing there gave people a sense of safety. Otherwise, even if it was her father's wish, Grace wouldn't have respected Lucian so much.
Plus, Lucian had a great personality. He never scolded his servants, let alone his own wife. A handsome, strong man like that was definitely the best thing in Grace's life.
"Let's call him Sam. Our child will definitely grow up to be an amazing and great warrior."
"Sam Harrow?"
Grace repeated the name, gently lying in Lucian's arms, then said, "Olivia is almost one year old. I heard that the big people in the city start training their kids from a young age. Olivia is so smart, should we do the same?"
She asked in a questioning tone.
6 Stage qualification isn't just about being able to reach 6 Stage in the future. Olivia grew up with magic nourishment, and both her body and mind were way beyond children her age. Grace had this idea, and Lucian wasn't surprised at all.
He smiled, "Don't worry, I've already prepared a bunch of excellent teachers for Olivia. They've already arrived at Harrow Manor."
"Teachers?"
Grace was a little confused. She had just had a baby and was still staying at home to rest, so she didn't know that Lucian had brought a group of Zelle elves back with him.
Lucian nodded and told the servant to bring Margarethe in.
When Grace saw Margarethe's pretty face and the long, pointed ears that were clearly not human, she gasped and said, "You're a high-class elf? Mr. Lucian, is this the teacher you found for Olivia?"
Lucian didn't answer. Instead, Margarethe shook her head and said, "Mrs. Grace, I'm an elf, but I'm not high-class."
She smiled bitterly. Elves without the Tree of Life were like lost children without a home. How could they be considered high-class?
"Also, I'm not your child's teacher. But the elves from the Zelle tribe will teach your child well. It's just a way to thank Mr. Lucian for saving my life."
When she heard that, Grace's mouth opened wide.
"Mr. Lucian, you got a bunch of elves to be loyal to you?"
Her face was full of admiration.
It was elves, the legendary, super high-class race that was naturally connected to magic. Olivia would definitely become a strong knight with their teaching.
And it wasn't just the elves being loyal.
As a woman, Grace could clearly feel a familiar emotion coming from Margarethe.
That feeling had admiration and respect in it, just like the way Margarethe looked at Mr. Lucian.
So, Mr. Lucian didn't just get a bunch of elves to be loyal to him. One of them even had a crush on Lucian.
She leaned in close and whispered in Lucian's ear, "Congratulations, Mr. Lucian. You've added another elf wife."
Grace thought she was speaking very quietly, but she didn't know that the people in the room were both third-stage superhumans. Margarethe was even a Rogue. Being able to hear clearly was nothing special for her.
So, even though it looked like a secret conversation between the two of them, it still reached Margarethe's ears.
Margarethe turned red and didn't know what to say for a moment.
Lucian also felt awkward and rubbed his nose without saying anything.
After a little while, Grace used up all her energy and fell asleep. Lucian took Margarethe out of the room and walked through Harrow Estate.
The romantic atmosphere in the room hadn't completely gone away.
Lucian looked at Margarethe and was about to say something, but stopped himself.
Instead, Margarethe brought up the topic: "I agreed to do what I promised you, but the thing Mrs. Grace said, it might not be possible."
When Lucian heard that, he was a little quiet.
He obviously knew what Margarethe was talking about. It was the thing about marrying Margarethe. The empire's law didn't stop humans from marrying other races, but very few people actually did it.
Even men who couldn't find a wife would never marry an alien race. That kind of thing seemed too weird to people.
The nobles might like the elves' bodies and beauty, but they just saw them as tools for pleasure. If someone married an elf, it would make everyone laugh out loud.
Lucian didn't really care about that, but since Margarethe didn't want to, there was no need to push her.
"Please don't misunderstand. Even though I can't be your wife, I'm willing to do the duties of a wife. I'll take care of the house and raise the kids. When the Tree of Life grows, the other elves from the Zelle tribe will leave."
She paused after saying that, like she had made a big decision. "And I'll stay behind."
She didn't say it directly, but her feelings were clear. Margarethe wasn't unwilling to be Lucian's wife. In fact, she really wanted to. She didn't even need a name or a title. She was willing to just quietly give everything in the background.
Lucian was confused. If she was just pretending for a deal, that was fine. But her actions had already gone way beyond just a deal. It looked like she truly wanted to give everything to Lucian.
"Why?"
When she heard Lucian's question, Margarethe sighed deeply.
"Mr. Lucian, marrying an elf is a ridiculous and crazy thing in the eyes of both nobles and common people. I can tell you have big ambitions. You won't be stuck in this little Frostspire City all your life."
"In the future, if you meet the upper nobles, marrying me will always be a stain. I don't want to cause you so much trouble just for my own selfish reasons."
"You saved me. You also saved the Zelle tribe. I'm happy to give you all that."
When she said this, Lucian stayed quiet. From her calm words, he could feel a strong, burning love.
After a moment, he made his decision deep in his heart.
"A wedding has to happen. As for the rumors?"
"If I was scared of them, I'd rather just live quietly and comfortably in Frostspire City."
