Mr Algeier who had given me my first spells through the sceptre seemed to always be the one to come through with something incredible for me. This time it was the fact that I had a long speech to use all of my support skills. Mr A had spent time researching how I could utilize most or all of my support skills with a simpler spell. He had come across triple support spells being called in their basic form in an abbreviated form.
On a random day over winter break he grabbed a journal from one of the legendary beast masters who created the academy originally. The journal was a real page turner and he actually passed the entry with the information but came across a reference taking him back to it. The breakdown was from a beast master of an elemental faery which had 5 elements and support spells in each.
The original founder of Ghostrun Academy in his journal stated that all support beast masters should have this spell mastered. "Firmamentum Totalirous" was the spell name and the beast master had to focus on his support skills that he wanted to use or all of them would activate.
Mr A had pulled me aside instead of going to my morning classes to explain to me his find. We went to his room and he explained what he came across and even showed me the journal so I could see what he saw and know what he knows. He was genuinely excited to have come across this and was eagerly waiting.
"Firmamentum Totalirous!" My body suddenly blinked forward five yards which was just passed Mr A's desk. I could feel my butt against the desk and realized I had blinked forward but I also could see the familiar glow from all of my support spells being casted at once. I realized how it said to focus on those that you wanted and I felt it was easier to focus on the one I didn't want which was blink.
With the new season of arena battles about to start now that it was the second semester meant that we would be going to Muhlhauser Academy this year to participate. Our first trip was a memorable one to say the least. Everyone typically travelled by gryphon but this time Team Arcanum arrived in style. All six of us were able to sit on the massive ancient wyvern who insisted on taking all six of us despite the teachers' protests.
The flight was short but as we approached the academy the alarm for an attack sounded. One of the guards, seeing the massive wyvern approaching, had no idea that it was a student transport that hit the tower's bell causing all other towers to hit their bells as was protocol. So bells were sounding as Xelo landed none-the-wiser as to why the bells were tolling. Guards came rushing out at us until gryphons landed with our professors proclaiming we were students.
It didn't help that Xelo insisted that we should go wearing our armor already so seeing six obsidian armored humans on a massive wyvern was quite a sight to see. The guard that sounded the alarm couldn't be blamed in hindsight. The last time a wyvern of his size was seen none of us were alive so Xelo was a first for most no matter the age.
The upside of wearing the armor made it easier to breathe and we all agreed that it would be how we would ride from now on. The other upside of wearing it was that we continued to scare the crap out of our opponents. Showing up on an ancient wyvern that could speak and interact with everyone instantly made the kids at the other academies jealous of what we had. Xelo loved the attention and ran with it but also made sure to inform everyone of who he was representing both Ghostrun and Arcanum.
"Why is it so hot to be near you?" A student from Devlinham Academy wearing their green uniform inquired of Xelo.
"Ah, you are threatened by me and think you need to attack me, think of me as a friend and it will go away." Xelo replied then the kid suddenly moved forward as if he broke through an invisible barrier.
"Wow, that was awesome! So if I want to hurt you, your presence can sense that!" the boy exclaimed then suddenly a girl who was petting Xelo backed away screaming.
"I only thought about it for a moment!" the girl exclaimed. She walked away not wanting to experience that pain again. I suddenly realized how powerful Xelo was to where if you wanted to hurt him you had to do so at a great range. Then that made me wonder who in the world could have captured and imprisoned him in the first place.
We proceeded to our room below the arena and were shocked to find Mr Jackson and Ghaston already in the room. They assured us that they wanted to make sure there were no traps for us before we entered the room. They had one more trick up their sleeves as they told us to close the door and suddenly the door opened and closed again.
Smoke once again started to enter the room despite the fact that we could easily walk out which is what we did. Ghaston was the first to exit and ran around the room to where the smoke could be coming from. When I made it around the corner I saw Ghaston holding a kid who was wearing the Muhlhauser Academy red and gold uniform. The kid was terrified hanging in the air as Ghaston was literally holding him up.
"Why are you attacking this room?" Ghaston's voice was deeper than I had ever heard and the intensity of which his voice emitted its energy echoed in the hallway.
"I'm sorry I was forced to by the older students, I don't know their names but I was told to wait till the teachers left and then to put the room to sleep." The boy cried out as urine was now flowing from his shoe and dripping onto the floor causing a constant patter noise.
I was confused by the kid stating that he waited for the teachers to leave when they hadn't. Then I remembered the door opening and closing and realized something happened that I wasn't aware of, the trick they played displayed a visual of Ghaston and Mr Jackson walking out of the arena. This trick I later found out was from a device created by one of the research and development team that was founded by Mr Jackson. This device was simply put on his beast transforming its image into the visual that was programmed into the device which was the two of them walking.
Ghaston had a dire look on his face as he wasn't sure what to make of this situation. I felt it was important to inform him that this appeared to be the standard procedure of Muhlhauser and had been penalized at last year's championship. The ramifications were nowhere near as severe at the beginning of the semester versus the championship. But their tactics needed to be revisited.
