We didn't get to have another battle that weekend as the arena was used the entire time and the long list of battles meant only a few teams got a second battle with most only getting one. This was standard and each weekend we would head back to Muhlhauser to once again battle in the arena.
When we arrived back at Ghostrun Academy Xelo informed us before we could feel it that there was something powerful coming from our room. The way he said it to us both Adam and myself were worried until we opened the door to see what was inside. In the center of the room was a bronze box with purple arcane energy flowing around the exterior. On the floor between the door and the box was a note.
'Adam and Jordan, This is an arcane fountain of power we found long ago. It has sat dormant til last year according to our guards. This lighting of the power the same day you two melded with the only known arcane beasts alive tells me it belongs to you. Keep it safe! - King Anthony P.S. Keep my granddaughters safe with this power.'
Joey, who read the note aloud, dropped it as he looked at the box feeling the power emitting from it. The note said it was Adam's and mine but Joey was still trying to grasp what it meant to be next to this raw energy. He felt like it would attack him if he tried to touch it, meanwhile I felt like it was calling me to sit on it or hug it. None of us touched it that first night as we had no idea what it was.
The next morning waking up and seeing each for the first time we all realize we changed over night. Not only did we grow but had physical changes brought onto us by the fountain. Travis' shell was now arcane purple, Joey's white fur now had a purple tone to it, Adam's hair was now arcane purple as if the energy was flowing out of his head and I had an arcane aura glowing off of me.
When Travis picked up his shield it glowed with arcane power, Joey's sais reacted as well. We each could feel significantly more power and we looked at the box and nothing was showing. I walked up to it and touched it and nothing happened. I couldn't feel the power coming from it and the realization that we just drained it was coming to our minds.
The last thing we didn't realize till we left the room and caught up with the girls was that we were all taller. I thought I had grown but I was still fascinated by my aura that was emanating off of me that I wasn't paying close attention to the slight dizziness from being higher off the ground. Running into the girls they instantly gasped at us and riddled us with questions.
Wispy appeared and he was more than double the size of what he was the day before. He had grown from being the size of a baseball to now a large watermelon. Seeing the change in size to Wispy, Adam summoned Dante who also grew significantly and we realized he might not fit in our room now. Tim was huge now and his shell took on the arcane purple which was just an awesome look. Po, now a small child in terms of his size, with purple and red hair popped out showing off his new look.
According to Joey they received an increase to magic resistance. Travis said that Tim informed him that his shell now reflected spells that attacked it. Dante informed Adam that they can do Arcane Explosion attack which gives him a nice area of effect attack when he blinks into the center of a group. Wispy informed me that it was silver ranked, now unlocking a Split Personality spell which leaves a copy of him with someone. This meant I could leave a copy with Maddy and go with Adam or simply give Adam a copy to defend him while he goes off and does his thing.
The biggest change was that Dante lifted off of the ground and could fly now. He took flight and soon Xelo joined him. The two flew around the buildings changing their heights and twirling together side by side as they flew their first flight together and Dante's first ever. While neither could smile, you could tell both were extremely happy with the newest exercise. Dante flew down and melded back into Adam then Adam's shirt broke in the back and Dante's wings appeared out of Adam's back.
All of us were in complete shock as we had seen older beast masters with wings but an eleven year old was unheard of. The arcane fountain of power that was gifted to us by the king had completely changed us and all of the pets were telling their beast masters they were silver ranked at this point. We all went to breakfast together and soon became the talk of the school.
Adam being the tallest with now arcane purple energy flowing in his hair was beacon number one. The purple aura emanating off of my own body was beacon number two. Travis' back which had been a natural brown shell before was now swirling arcane energy and it emanated light from its surface for beacon number three. To be honest Joey didn't give off a beacon but the fact that even he was known as the shortest in the class was now one of the tallest so people were shocked to see that as well.
Mr G was the first to notice and confronted us to find out what happened. As principal we didn't hesitate to inform him that we truly had no idea what happened to us but that there was a note signed by the king. Mr G rubbed his leg pants, clearly nervous about what was going on. I realized right then that I was now as tall as him which was quite the shock, he wasn't the tallest man but the fact I grew that much was alarming.
I believe Adam had the same thought as he did a motion with his hand at his forehead as if he was checking to see if it was higher than our principal's which it already was. Adam's wings were out and on display and Mr G was staring at them throughout our entire interaction. He only glanced at the rest of us but the wings were fascinating to him.
The last and biggest change for us was that we were moved from the second year hall to the permanent rooms. There were two wings of dormitories that held the first year in one and the second year in the other. Then a completely separate building that had an intense dimensional void magic casted on it, this allowed for the Academy to have rooms for the individuals and their beasts. The rooms magically transformed into the most desirable environment for the beast.
My room was small as a wisp didn't need an environment. I didn't mind as the one wall was built to be a target practice range for my bow so the room could read what we needed as beast masters as well. The coolest part was the fact that the first thing I tested was how far the range would go and it hit one thousand yards. If I ever fire a bow attack at someone that far away and hit them, well it was just destined at that point.
