"Should I just grab her hand directly? And then find an excuse?"
After leaving the Hokage Building, Kaien's mind was constantly conflicted about holding Hinata's hand.
"Um, Kaien-kun, do you have time to walk around with me?" Hinata asked softly, her head lowered.
Kaien was slightly startled when he heard this, then nodded. "Of course I can!"
He was still thinking about how to hold Hinata's hand.
Now that Hinata had actively asked him to accompany her, he could use this time to look for an opportunity.
Kaien followed behind Hinata, constantly thinking about how to hold her hand, not speaking.
Hinata also kept her head down, clearly lost in thought, and didn't speak either.
The atmosphere felt awkward. Kaien scratched his head, then looked up and asked, "Sister-in-law… did something happen between you and my Brother Naruto?"
In Naruto's office earlier, Naruto had clearly wanted Hinata to leave, as if there was something he didn't want her to hear.
Hinata was startled by the question. She sighed, but didn't answer.
"Uh…" Seeing her silence, Kaien could only scratch his head in frustration.
Hinata's personality really was difficult to read, so Kaien stopped talking and quietly followed her through the streets of Konoha.
"How much do you know about your brother's situation?" Hinata suddenly stopped, turned around, and asked softly.
"Uh… what situation?" Kaien froze, looking confused.
In this world, Kushina and Mikoto were alive, Sakura and Sasuke had Sarada early, and Naruto himself was different from the Naruto Kaien remembered.
On the surface, though, he still looked the same as the Naruto from the anime.
Hinata's pale eyes stared straight into Kaien's.
Seeing his gaze waver, she gently shook her head, sighed, and said, "It seems you don't intend to tell me the truth about him."
"Sister-in-law… do you know something?" Kaien asked awkwardly, feeling pressure under her gaze.
"I know. I've known for a long time," Hinata said after taking a deep breath.
"Uh…"
"Since you know, why did you still marry him?"
A sudden voice interrupted them.
"Who's there?!" Kaien's voice turned cold as he looked around.
Without realizing it, the two had walked into a dense forest. There was no one in sight.
"Miss Hinata, leave him… and marry me."
A man with pale skin, blue-white long hair, slender willow-like brows, and white robes appeared before them.
Ōtsutsuki Toneri.
Kaien instantly guessed his identity from his appearance.
"Who are you?" Hinata's expression darkened. Her fists clenched slightly as she looked at Toneri warily.
"Miss Hinata, my name is Toneri—Ōtsutsuki Toneri," Toneri said indifferently, extending his right hand.
So it really was him.
Kaien hadn't been back in the village for years, so he instinctively assumed Toneri had already tried to abduct Hinata before.
But Hinata clearly didn't recognize him.
That meant Toneri hadn't appeared yet.
"Sister-in-law, hurry and go! I'll hold him off—his target is you!" Kaien stepped in front of Hinata.
"No! I can't leave you alone!" Hinata shook her head firmly.
"Miss Hinata, I won't hurt you. Believe me," Toneri glanced coldly at Kaien, then looked back at Hinata.
"As long as we unite, we can create our ideal peaceful world."
"The current world is fine. I don't need any other 'peaceful world,'" Hinata replied without hesitation.
"In that case, I'll have no choice but to forcibly take you away," Toneri said coldly.
His figure vanished.
In the next instant, he appeared beside Hinata.
"Dream on!" Kaien immediately blocked.
"Annoying insect." Toneri snorted and casually swung his arm.
Kaien's pupils shrank. His reaction was fast, but he was still struck hard in the shoulder.
"Pfft!"
Kaien was sent flying, crashing heavily into the ground and coughing up blood.
"Kaien!" Hinata cried out in panic, rushing to his side.
"Cough… cough…" Kaien wiped the blood from his mouth and forced himself up, glaring at Toneri.
He knew he wasn't a match—but being blown away with a single move was terrifying.
"Are you alright?" Hinata supported him, instinctively holding his hand.
[Ding! Make-Out Paradise Mission completed: Hold Hinata's hand. Reward: 100 passion points.]
Hinata holding Kaien's hand instantly completed the system mission, making Kaien's eyes light up.
The Make-Out Paradise system occasionally issued missions, each rewarding passion points.
Passion points could be used for lottery draws—1,000 points per draw.
He had already:
Kissed Mother Kushina → 100 points
Touched Sakura's steamed bun → 300 points
Kissed Sakura → 500 points
Held Hinata's hand → 100 points
Exactly 1,000 passion points.
He didn't know what the lottery would give him—but right now, it was his only hope.
Toneri walked toward them step by step, calm and unhurried. Kaien's strength was mediocre, and Toneri wasn't afraid of Hinata either.
Lottery. Start the lottery. Now!
Kaien roared internally at the system.
[Consuming 1,000 passion points. Lottery draw initiated.]
"Doo doo doo…"
A lottery machine appeared before Kaien's eyes. It was his first time seeing it—and his first time seeing the rewards.
"Sharingan… Byakugan… Rinnegan… Mangekyō Sharingan… Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan… Tenseigan… Jōgan…"
"Three Thousand Burning Flame… Bone-Chilling Flame… Void-Swallowing Flame… Pure Lotus Demonic Flame… Golden Emperor Sky-Burning Flame… Fallen Heart Flame…"
"Lovesick Heartbreak Red… Qiluo Imperial Golden Orchid… Oddly-Shaped Seven-Treasured Glazed Chrysanthemum… Eight-Cornered Profound Ice Grass… Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng…"
"Aquarius Key… Gemini Key… Leo Key… Capricorn Key…"
"Senzu Bean… Kaiōken… Kamehameha… Spirit Bomb… Special Beam Cannon… Makankōsappō…"
"Ryūjin Jakka… Senbonzakura… Kyōka Suigetsu… Hyōrinmaru… Katen Kyōkotsu… Zabimaru…"
