Chapter 14 - 14: Warnings

Seraphina

My eyes widened, and fear slammed into my chest because now I knew how evil he could get, and how heartless he was. His hands were in his pockets and he stared at me from his position, his posture relaxed and a smile across his face, one which could fool anyone.

"Hello, Seraphina." He gushed as he motioned me over, but I couldn't move.

As my heart pounded away, I contemplated running back into Blair's house right now, fear still gripping my insides.

However, as I turned to run, he closed the distance between us fast and forced his way into the house with me, shoving me in hard when I attempted to shut the door in his face. The scream I let out bounced around the interior of Blair's house, making the fear within me skyrocket as I realized what I just unknowingly did. I've just led him here where there was no one else present.

Oh gods. I'm so doomed.

My eyes were blown wide, panic swirling my insides as I inched backwards, holding my hands out in fear. "Get out!"

Heathen only chuckled as he slowly walked closer to me, heightening the fear gripping me. If anyone had ever told me that I'd be in such a position, I'd have laughed in their face.

"I just want to have a chat with you, face to face." He drawled and I trembled from fear. All the bravado I felt when speaking to him on the phone was nowhere to be found, cause seeing him in person right now was so daunting cause now I knew what a monster he was.

"How are you here so fast?" I demanded shakily and he chuckled while rolling his eyes.

"Well, because I knew where you've been staying since you left, and after you didn't answer anyone's calls this morning, I was already on my way before you accepted my call."

I breathed slowly as I pointed at the door. "Well, you already spoke to me, so leave."

"Now, not so fast, Sera…" he drawled as he came even closer to me, making me flinch from disgust just as my back met the wall behind me.

"Don't call me that," I whispered but he ignored me and kept walking until he was right in front of me.

"You look so afraid. Why? Scared I'm gonna hurt you?" He crooned, reaching up to stroke my hair and another wave of disgust came over me.

"Please don't hurt me," I whispered, my heart pounding even harder.

He let out a grating laugh, right before he pulled hard on my hair so my head was bent back, wrenching a pained cry from my throat.

"You were talking to me rudely over the phone this morning. That shouldn't ever happen again. Understood?" He demanded right in my face and as tears filled up my eyes, I slowly nodded, my entire head hurting.

He grinned, clearly pleased. "Good."

He released my hair after that, but still remained close to me. "Remember my warning over the phone? That news must never get to the public, not even Alec. Got it?" He demanded and I flinched before nodding fast again while tears kept rolling down my face. I felt extremely terrified and scared right now, cause I was so powerless in this situation.

"Good," he cooed, then he grabbed my hair hard and made me face him again while I winced as more pain flooded through my head.

"Now, about Alec. I told you over the phone but you had the audacity to end the call. How dare you?" He demanded, gripping my face so hard and digging his fingers harshly into my cheeks and making my eyes fill up with tears again.

"I- I'm sorry," I whispered, feeling more helpless and silently praying that he leaves as fast as possible.

"Of course you are." He drawled before continuing. "That thing going on between you two which is most likely fake, mustn't continue." He announced and I managed not to let my eyes widen.

"You mustn't ever see him again. Is that understood." He continued and I sniffed, anger curling within me along with fear.

"But why? We're not together anymore. I should be able to do whatever I want," I whispered, then I exhaled shakily, my head reeling hard when he laughed right in my face.

"That's because even though we're no longer together, you're still mine, Sera. You can't be with anyone else," he revealed and I gaped at him.

"That's impossible." I whispered but he pulled on my hair, making me cry out.

"It's possible because I said so. Who are you gonna report me to? The police? The Internet? Alec?" He barked out a laugh again and I flinched.

"Now, am I clear? You must completely stay away from Alec no matter what. If you ever get captured together again…" he trailed off and I swallowed as I nodded stiffly, humoring him because I wanted this to be over with as fast as possible.

"Okay."

He hummed. "If you don't listen to me, your best friend will be hurt." He revealed and my mouth fell open in shock.

"Please don't hurt her, please." I cried out desperately, already feeling worried about her. My innocent friend who only housed me doesn't deserve to be dragged into my mess.

Heathen grinned like he just got the reaction he wanted. "If you do as ordered, she won't be hurt."

My mind reeled and dejectedness settled within me. Does this mean that I wouldn't be getting into that contract marriage with Alec anymore?

I was still thinking when Heathen continued. "By the way, I'm also here to tell you that your parents have forgiven you, and they're asking you to return home before the end of tomorrow, or they'll take back their forgiveness." He revealed.

"After the end of tomorrow, if you've still not returned, they'll not take you back anymore." He added and as my mind reeled from shock, I slowly realized that they were only asking me to return home after those images hit the Internet this morning and now they were clearly already figuring out that I might help Zen overthrow their company after getting married to Alec.

I let out a slow breath before responding. "I refuse to return. You've all kicked me out and I won't be returning ever again."
