Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

Vegapunk, with his large head, had his entire face quickly zoom in on the screen.

"I am Dr. Vegapunk... a humble genius scientist. Hello there, Destruction Tyrant Milim, and Big-Mouthed Fish-Man El."

El's face was originally calm, but the moment he heard the epithet, he couldn't hold back any longer, his whole face contorting. "You bastard! Don't just give people nicknames like that."

"Is that so?" Vegapunk showed a puzzled look, then picked up a bounty poster next to him and glanced at it.

"But I wasn't wrong. The bounty poster does indeed say 'Big-Mouthed Fish-Man El'."

"Just call me by my name. Don't use such an embarrassing epithet anymore." El finally lowered his head in defeat.

"El, then. May I ask what brings you to Karakuri Island this time? If you're here for a trip, then I welcome you." Although Vegapunk had a smile on his face, a hint of vigilance flashed in his eyes.

Milim pushed El aside and brought her entire face close to the robot's screen. "Yo, Vegapunk! We came here for you. We know that you're a genius scientist who can create many inventions that make people's lives better."

"That's why we've come specifically to invite you to join us in Totto Land."

"You came looking for me because you think I can create many inventions to make people happier?" Vegapunk became excited, asking with great enthusiasm.

"That's right!" Milim gave Vegapunk a thumbs-up. "Totto Land was just established not long ago, and we are in dire need of a talent like you."

"Besides, don't you also want to invent technology that brings world peace?"

"Hahaha! Someone actually knows what kind of technology I want to invent?" Vegapunk danced with excitement. "Finally, someone is willing to understand the technology I want to create."

Suddenly, Vegapunk remembered something, slapped his large head, and said apologetically, "Sorry, sorry. In my excitement, I forgot you were still out in the ice and snow. I have no sense of hospitality. I'll open the lab door right now."

As Vegapunk pressed a few buttons on the control console, a secret passage leading underground abruptly opened up on the flat, snowy ground.

The small robot was the first to head towards the secret passage. As it walked, Vegapunk introduced it, "This is the snow robot I invented. It's generally used to guide people who are lost in the snow."

"Sometimes, it also helps me explore various harsh environments."

"And this is just one of my insignificant inventions."

As he spoke, the small robot quickly arrived before an iron door. The door opened, and Vegapunk's figure appeared behind it!

"Wow! You really do have such a big head." Milim's figure flashed, and she appeared next to Vegapunk, staring at the huge head on top of his.

Her eyes were filled with surprise and curiosity.

Milim asked curiously, "Can I touch it?"

"Of course, no problem!" Vegapunk waved his hand dismissively.

Milim reached out a finger and gently poked the massive head, finding it was no different from a normal head, just a lot bigger.

"I ate the Brain-Brain Fruit, making me a Brain Human. I can perfectly memorize any knowledge I see. The more I remember, the bigger my brain gets, and over time, it became like this," Vegapunk explained with a smile as he watched Milim.

"That fruit is really suited for you scientists!" Milim quickly lost interest in Vegapunk's big head and instead became interested in the various pieces of equipment in the lab, wandering among them as she spoke.

"You're not wrong to say that, but it has indeed caused me some trouble, although the trouble isn't too big for now." Vegapunk tapped his enormous head and let out a helpless laugh.

"When it gets bigger and bigger in the future, I'll probably have to consider whether to cut it off."

"Cut it off?" El stared at Vegapunk with his fish-like eyes in disbelief.

Vegapunk smiled. "Don't make that face. It's not about cutting it off directly as you imagine, but rather using scientific means to separate it."

El nodded. "Alright, this is the first time I've realized technology is so amazing."

"Of course. Technology is the foundation of everything. Only technology can allow civilization to advance rapidly," Vegapunk said proudly.

"That's why we're inviting you to Totto Land. We won't interfere with any of your experiments, as long as they can make Totto Land a better place," Milim said in a calm tone, picking up a bottle of potion and shaking it.

"No matter how much funding your experiments require, we will provide it unconditionally."

Vegapunk lowered his head in thought and finally made up his mind.

"It seems I have no reason to refuse. But let me be clear beforehand, I don't like creating dangerous weapons." As he spoke, Vegapunk picked up a firework, lit it, and threw it on the ground.

"Compared to those dangerous weapons, I prefer to create things that bring peace, like this."

The fuse burned down to the powder, and along with the flash of light, beautiful flowers bloomed one after another.

"We don't want any destructive weapons. We came to find you for only one reason: you can make Totto Land a better place." El looked at the firework on the ground, feeling emotional. The scientist before him was truly a man who yearned for peace. In this terrible world, such a scientist was a rare sight.

Milim appeared beside Vegapunk. "Do you have any more of those fireworks? Can you give me some?"

Vegapunk turned his head and saw Milim's sparkling eyes. He laughed and pointed to a warehouse on the side.

"That warehouse over there is full of them. If you want them, just take them all."

"Thanks!" Milim said her thanks and turned to run towards the warehouse.

El took a deep breath. "So, Doctor, what is your answer?"

Vegapunk closed his eyes. A few seconds later, they snapped open, filled with nothing but determination. "Then, without a doubt, I will pledge my loyalty to Totto Land."

"Totto Land welcomes you." El extended his hand and shook Vegapunk's.

And so, Vegapunk, the genius 500 years ahead of the world, officially joined Totto Land.

El glanced at the surroundings. "Dr. Vegapunk, is there anything you need to take with you?"

"There's nothing to take. All of my research data is in my brain," Vegapunk said, tapping his head confidently.

"In that case, let's leave as soon as possible."

"I have no problem with that."

Just then, a voice suddenly cut in. "El, I have a question." Milim's figure suddenly appeared between the two, raising her hand high to show she still had a question.

"Boss, what is your question?"
