Chapter 37: This Resident Evil Isn't Right!
FBI Los Angeles field office, armory.
Marcus glanced around. Stevens had prepared seven M4 carbines, seven M11 submachine guns, and fourteen M1911 pistols, with even more ammunition.
"Haha, you're always so thoughtful!" Marcus patted Stevens's shoulder.
Stevens grumbled, "Go easy on me!"
Marcus paused for a moment, then explained about the Terminator T-1000 attachment. "It seems the Terminator T-1000 really does increase strength when attached."
Stevens said with a worried expression, "Is it going to be so dangerous that you need the Terminator T-1000 as body armor?"
Marcus waved his hand. "It is indeed dangerous. I'll be extra careful. You guys need to be careful too. I'm worried Skynet will send more Terminators!"
At this point, Marcus looked at Jackson, Rodriguez, and Williams. "Have you three learned how to identify the Terminator T-1000?"
The three nodded repeatedly.
"Boss, don't worry!" Jackson replied confidently.
"Boss, please rest assured, we'll be careful," Rodriguez replied earnestly.
Williams simply nodded.
"Alright, I'm leaving. Don't see me off, I don't like farewells." Marcus waved his hand, then left with five Terminators. The sixth Terminator was integrated with him!
...
Inside Marcus's residence, he contacted the Transcendence System in his mind, "System, let's go, let's go, let's head to the Resident Evil world, I want to earn lots of destiny points!"
"Host, do you need to establish a dimensional anchor point in the Terminator world?" the Transcendence System asked considerately.
Establishing a dimensional anchor point would require 10 destiny points, but it would allow him to return to the Terminator world anytime from the Resident Evil world.
If he didn't establish a dimensional anchor point, once he wanted to leave the Resident Evil world, he would either have to spend 100 destiny points to establish a World Gate, or spend 20 destiny points to return to the original world gate.
Overall, it seemed that establishing a dimensional anchor point was the cheapest option?
But Marcus had more ideas about the Resident Evil world. The Resident Evil world had been ruined by the Umbrella Corporation. Even though Alice had released the airborne T-virus antidote in the final chapter of the original Resident Evil storyline, humanity was essentially extinct.
After all, at that time, it was questionable whether the total global population even reached a thousand!
Unless they used the Umbrella Corporation's cloning technology—memory injection, emotion injection, and so on—it was impossible to rebuild civilization. Otherwise, relying solely on natural reproduction by ordinary people?
Ha!
That's no joke at all.
Since the Resident Evil world was destined for tragedy, Marcus considered whether he could take it over and develop it as his logistical base instead of the Terminator world.
The Terminator world was ultimately problematic!
The timeline of the Terminator world was flawed. What if a fluctuation in the timeline erased all his efforts?
That would be utter disaster!
Therefore, if he could choose the Resident Evil world, Marcus would prefer it.
As for preventing the Resident Evil world's destruction?
Sorry!
From the moment the T-virus leaked, even though the Red Queen sealed off the entire Hive, it was utterly ineffective; the T-virus was already unstoppable.
Therefore, even though Umbrella Corporation used nuclear weapons to strike Raccoon City, the T-virus still spread globally.
"We won't establish a dimensional anchor point for now; we'll enter the Resident Evil world directly," Marcus explained.
"Okay. Please, host, and all Terminators, hold hands and form a circle. We are about to enter the Resident Evil world..." the Transcendence System reminded him.
A dizzying sensation washed over him; Marcus knew he was entering the Resident Evil world, something he had experienced before.
...
Cold, disoriented...
When Marcus snapped out of his daze, he quickly looked around, his brow furrowing involuntarily, because he had basically confirmed the situation.
He was currently on the train heading to the Hive, but the train carried not only the Umbrella Corporation's commando team but also five men and two women, all unconscious, surrounded by a protective barrier, which the Umbrella Corporation's commando members seemed unable to see.
"System, are you there? We seem to have gotten caught up in something unusual!" Marcus contacted the Transcendence System in his mind. While contacting the Transcendence System, he glanced at his wrist; he wasn't wearing a watch with countdown timer, which relieved him slightly.
"Hello, host, the system has confirmed the situation. There are energy fluctuations from another system in the current world. After searching and analyzing, this system has confirmed that the other party is the [Main God System]," the Transcendence System responded.
"Will we be discovered by the Main God System?" Marcus asked tentatively.
"Please rest assured, host. This system's authority exceeds that of the Main God System. We will not be discovered by the Main God System, but once the personnel controlled by the Main God return, the Main God will be able to detect our presence," the Transcendence System replied.
"Will it have any impact?" Marcus pressed.
"It will have no impact. The Main God cannot discover us, nor can it lock onto us. If the host needs it, we can even access the Main God's dimensional space," the Transcendence System responded.
Marcus refused; he had no desire to go to the Main God's dimensional space!
"Alright, System, according to the original plan, reverse cause and effect through destiny points, upgrade my identity to Umbrella Corporation Level 7 authority, and position me as a member of the Umbrella Corporation's board of directors," Marcus responded.
"Okay, this operation will consume 50 destiny points. Please confirm execution," the Transcendence System issued a query.
Marcus was shocked. He currently had 54 destiny points left. If he had used 10 destiny points to establish a dimensional anchor point before entering the Resident Evil world, he would be in trouble now!
"Confirm!" Marcus responded.
After Marcus issued the order, a dark-haired young man opposite him woke up and suddenly pulled out a Desert Eagle, pointing it at Marcus.
"Who are you?" The veteran looked at Marcus nervously.
At this moment, Marcus, dressed in an elegant black suit, sat casually in a silver-white chair. Two Terminator T-1000s stood on either side of him, and three Terminator T-800s were fully armed, even wearing full-coverage tactical helmets.
Otherwise, wouldn't it be comical to see three identical muscular men standing together?
"If I were you, I wouldn't point a gun at a stranger," Marcus reminded him with a slight smile.
The veteran finally understood Marcus's position. The stranger clearly possessed superior firepower. After a slight hesitation, he decided not to use his enhancements, but simply lowered the Desert Eagle.
"Sorry, misunderstanding!" The veteran chose to back down.
As the veteran softened his stance, the main character woke up. This time, the veteran lacked the arrogance of the original story, and the main character, realizing the atmosphere was somewhat tense, chose to remain silent.
Once everyone was fully awake, the veteran began his introduction. Just like in the original story, the veteran used one of the newcomers to establish his authority and even test Marcus's attitude.
But Marcus just observed the whole thing!
The main character seized on the key question, "According to you, we now have thirteen people, so isn't the difficulty extremely high?"
Faced with this question, the veteran was stunned!
Was the plot of a mere Resident Evil 1 really that difficult?
