Chapter 36: The Easy Target Has Arrived!
Marcus wondered if he was really unlucky.
Anyway, whether he was or not, Marcus secretly decided to only try three times.
Lotteries are all a scam!
Games and gambling have long proven the theory that lotteries are a scam; only guaranteed investments pay off!
"World Connection Successful!"
"Attempting to Read Information from the River of Destiny..."
"Reading Information from the River of Destiny Successful!"
"World Lock Successful!"
"Host, the system has locked the randomly selected world. According to the information from the River of Destiny, this world is the Resident Evil world. Would you like to proceed?"
The Transcendence System reminded Marcus.
Marcus was stunned.
It was the Resident Evil world!
If it was the Resident Evil world, it was practically an easy target!
Looking at the entire Resident Evil world, which zombie or monster posed the greatest threat?
The Tyrant from Project Nemesis?
The mutant creature in Resident Evil 3?
Or the mutant dragons in Resident Evil 5 and 6?
Or perhaps it's the enhanced Wesker and Dr. Isaacs?
Compared to the Terminator, these things are utter trash!
The Terminator T-1000 can proudly declare that it didn't say any particular creature in the Resident Evil world is trash; it said all the mutated creatures in the Resident Evil world are trash!
"First, record the spatial anchor point of the Resident Evil world. I need to prepare in advance before going there!" Marcus replied.
"Okay, the system has recorded the spatial anchor point of the Resident Evil world," the Transcendence System responded.
Marcus finally went to sleep satisfied. Turns out, he wasn't unlucky after all!
The next day.
Nine o'clock in the morning.
Marcus led six Terminators to the FBI's Los Angeles field office. He found Stevens, intending to obtain weapons and equipment from the FBI through Stevens, making it easier to operate in the Resident Evil world.
"Stevens, I need your help," Marcus said proactively.
"What kind of help do you need?" Stevens asked in return.
Marcus explained in detail, "I need a lot of weapons to arm all six Terminators."
Before Stevens could answer, Marcus continued, "You probably guessed it, I'm leaving again. This time I'm taking them back to the future to see if it's changed!"
"What?" Stevens was stunned. "You...can't you stay?"
Marcus remained silent.
Stevens frowned. "Marcus, my friend, why can't you stay in this era? This era should be safer and more comfortable, right?"
"I'm sorry," Marcus sighed.
Stevens sighed helplessly. "What kind of weapons do you need?"
"Conventional weapons will do, assault rifles and pistols, and plenty of ammunition," Marcus replied.
The zombies in the Resident Evil world are weak; ordinary firearms can easily eliminate them.
"No problem, I'll prepare them for you. When are you leaving?" Stevens added, "Will you come back?"
"If there are any unexpected circumstances, I will definitely come back. If..." Marcus didn't finish his sentence.
Stevens stared intently at Marcus, finally sighing, "I both hope you come back and hope you don't. But if you do come back, remember to find me, we're friends!"
Marcus responded affirmatively, "Yes, we're friends."
While the FBI's Los Angeles field office was preparing weapons, Marcus led six Terminators to the underground firing range.
"Unit One, try attaching yourself to my body and see if you can provide effective protection," Marcus instructed. He had referenced the T-X's design, using himself as the internal framework and then having the liquid metal Terminator T-1000 attach to it, thus creating stronger defense.
"Okay." Terminator T-1000 immediately obeyed the command, transforming into a mass of liquid metal and attaching itself to Marcus's exterior.
Marcus frowned, feeling a heavy pressure.
"Try to completely cover my feet as well, with all the weight supported by your own liquid structure," Marcus instructed again.
Terminator T-1000 adjusted its configuration, also encasing Marcus's feet.
Marcus had initially felt the weight, but after the adjustment, the Terminator T-1000 supported its own weight, even providing a mechanical exoskeleton-like support system.
"How's the defense?" Marcus asked.
The Terminator T-1000's liquid metal even reached into Marcus's ears, responding like an earpiece.
"Because the defensive layer is thin, it can't stop attacks from large-caliber firearms, nor can it stop handgun attacks at close range. It can only effectively block the cutting and piercing of melee weapons," Terminator T-1000 explained.
Marcus raised his right hand, examining his palm, which was indistinguishable from his own. In reality, his palm was covered with a layer of liquid metal about one millimeter thick, simulating the color of Marcus's skin, and even replicating his fingerprints.
To maintain its slim profile, the liquid metal that Terminator T-1000 transformed into could only condense into a pack on Marcus's back to store excess liquid metal.
Marcus considered for a moment, then instructed, "Thicken the defensive layer a bit, raise it to 3 millimeters, and see if you can remove the pack."
Terminator T-1000 responded directly, "Sorry, simply increasing the defensive layer to 3 millimeters won't completely remove the pack."
"How can I remove the pack?" Marcus frowned.
In the Terminator world, Marcus liked to wear suits, and carrying a pack with a suit felt incredibly awkward.
The Terminator T-1000 responded quickly, "Unless the administrator wears only form-fitting clothing, with liquid metal simulating outer garments, and the defensive layer is increased to 5 millimeters thick, then the pack can be completely eliminated."
The Terminator T-1000 added, "Increasing the defensive layer to 5 millimeters will effectively stop handgun bullets, and beyond twenty meters, assault rifle bullets will also have reduced effectiveness, posing no threat to the administrator's life."
Hearing the Terminator T-1000's explanation, Marcus didn't hesitate any longer. He went to the bathroom and took off his outer clothes, leaving only his underwear, and then the Terminator T-1000 simulated his outer garments.
After the Terminator T-1000 finished simulating, it continued, "To ensure the administrator's comfort, all liquid metal particles have been micro-heated, providing the administrator with the necessary warmth while ensuring a certain degree of breathability."
Marcus tried out the mobility. After integrating with the Terminator T-1000, he didn't feel any restriction; instead, he felt enhanced by the exoskeleton.
"Boss, the deputy director said your equipment is ready," Rodriguez walked into the underground firing range. After speaking, he looked at Marcus with a puzzled expression, then at the Terminators beside him.
Marcus raised his right hand, and a layer of silver-gray liquid metal appeared. He smiled and said, "One of the Terminator T-1000s has attached itself to me, acting as body armor."
Rodriguez breathed a sigh of relief. He had been startled, thinking Marcus had transformed into a Terminator T-1000.
The two walked together to the armory. Stevens spoke first, "Marcus, are you satisfied with these weapons?"
