Chapter 35: The Gate to a New World: Unlucky?
In the dead of night, in the early hours of the morning, Marcus and the Transcendence System were preparing to explore a new world.
Mainly, Marcus had just received the Skynet gift package, and he felt a little confident.
After all, three Terminator T-1000s and three Terminator T-800s seemed incredibly powerful, right?
The confident Marcus, having figured out his escape route, mentally commanded, "Let's get started! Invest 10 destiny points, let's take a chance!"
"Okay, host, please wait. The system has consumed 10 destiny points and is attempting to search for world information. Attempting to connect to the world..." the Transcendence System continuously provided feedback.
"World connection successful!"
"Attempting to read information from the River of Destiny..."
"Reading information from the River of Destiny successful!"
"World locked successfully!"
"Host, the system has locked the randomly selected world. According to the information from the River of Destiny, this world is the Pacific Rim world. Would you like to proceed?" the Transcendence System reported.
Marcus raised an eyebrow. The Pacific Rim world?
"I think your system is messing with me!" Marcus complained.
Pacific Rim is dangerous, okay?
Those Kaiju monsters are all tens of meters tall and weigh thousands of tons. Not only are they enormous and heavily armored, but they're also incredibly powerful.
Plus, their blood is highly toxic, and even their breath is radioactive. Simply put, they're impossible to fight conventionally—a monster version of a tank with biological weapons.
Who can handle that?
While the Terminator T-1000 is powerful, and the Terminator T-800 isn't bad either, Pacific Rim is designed for super-large mechs. Something like the Terminator T-800, whether facing a Kaiju or a Jaeger, is just debris that can be easily crushed.
As for the Terminator T-1000?
Because it's made entirely of liquid metal, maybe Jaegers and Kaiju can't crush it permanently, but Kaiju blood is highly toxic and corrosive, and the Terminator T-1000 is vulnerable to chemical damage!
If the Terminator T-1000 encountered a Kaiju tens of meters tall and weighing thousands of tons, how would it deal with it?
Would it infiltrate the Kaiju's body?
Don't be ridiculous!
Would it self-destruct inside?
Marcus, who had just received the Skynet gift package, said he couldn't afford to mess with the Pacific Rim world. After all, the Pacific Rim world was too complex. On the surface, it was a Kaiju invasion, but behind it stood an alien race.
This alien race had coveted Earth since the Triassic period.
When was the Triassic period?
Approximately 200 to 250 million years ago.
Simply put, the alien race that cultivated the Kaiju had been developing for over 200 million years, and then, 200 million years later, it once again found Earth and launched an invasion.
This alien civilization, which had been developing for over 200 million years, wanted to invade Earth—who knows how powerful they really were?
But it's also quite absurd that such a small planet as Earth would be remembered by them 200 million years later. Isn't that strange?
Anyway, whether it's strange or not, Marcus stated that he would not enter the Pacific Rim world.
Marcus is a rational person, completely devoid of any suicidal tendencies, so naturally, he wouldn't go to the Pacific Rim world seeking death.
Even though the Pacific Rim world possesses abundant resources—such as large-scale mech manufacturing technology, large-scale mech energy supply technology, large-scale mech metal smelting technology, and a whole host of other large-scale mech technologies—plus the silicon-based bio-cloning technology and space wormhole technology mastered by aliens—what good are these resources?
Marcus can't defeat the Kaiju!
Neither the Terminator T-1000 nor the Terminator T-800 can defeat the Kaiju!
They're simply not in the same league.
A Terminator encountering a Kaiju would be completely outmatched, utterly unable to mount any resistance.
"By the way, System, if we don't go to the Pacific Rim world, can we store it and go there later when we have the capability?" Marcus asked.
The Transcendence System responded affirmatively, "Of course. Even if the host doesn't ask, the system will remind the host that the Pacific Rim world is highly dangerous and it is not recommended that the host enter it. However, the system can save the spatial anchor point of the Pacific Rim world. Once the host has sufficient strength, we can definitely enter it."
Marcus breathed a sigh of relief. Although he didn't know if he would be able to enter the Pacific Rim world in the future, at least he had something to look forward to, and his destiny points were not wasted.
"Let's try again!" Marcus said, continuing to invest his destiny points in the selection.
"Okay, host, please wait. The system has consumed 10 destiny points and is trying to search for world information. It is trying to connect to the world..." The Transcendence System continuously provided feedback.
"World connection successful!"
"Attempting to read information from the River of Destiny..."
"Reading information from the River of Destiny successful!"
"World locked successfully!"
"Host, the system has locked the randomly selected world. According to the information from the River of Destiny, this world is the Star Wars world. Would you like to proceed?"
After a series of repeated feedback messages, the Transcendence System asked Marcus.
Faced with the system's prompt, Marcus couldn't help but complain, "Damn system, don't you know I can't even go there?"
Marcus continued to rant, "That's the world of Star Wars! Can you even process this? It's Star Wars! Star Wars! Star Wars!"
"The Death Stars there can destroy a planet with a single shot from their superlaser, all sorts of advanced technology are constantly emerging, and there are even Force-wielding warriors... Jedi Knights. What am I supposed to do in there? Tell me, what am I supposed to do in there? Go mine for the Empire?" Marcus ranted furiously.
What level would the Terminator T-1000 and T-800 be in Star Wars?
Probably not even basic troops.
Basic troops also wield blaster weapons!
The power of a single blaster is something even a Terminator T-1000 couldn't easily withstand.
Besides, the existence of Jedi Knights and Sith Lords, those are the most terrifying things. The kind of thing where one person takes on an entire battalion is what they're capable of.
Marcus had initially planned to have six Terminators, thinking he could finally show his strength in other worlds. But instead, he encountered either the Kaiju from Pacific Rim or the galactic conflicts from Star Wars.
Who could handle that?
Maybe he should just give up and go to sleep; anything is possible in dreams.
Marcus was unwilling to give up. After some consideration, he decided to try one more time.
He had already invested 20 destiny points, only to find two worlds he dared not enter. Although the spatial anchor points of these worlds had been stored, who knew when he could enter them?
"One more time!" Marcus secretly decided that this was the last time he would randomly select a world. If he still didn't get a decent one, he would consider himself unlucky.
"Please wait, the system has consumed 10 destiny points and is attempting to search for world information and connect to the world..."
